Also -- the game is called Metal Gear Solid and Ghost Babel is a really dumb name. It should just be referred to as Metal Gear Solid. Shinta Nojiri (the game's director) confirmed Ghost Babel are two words he more or less pulled out of a hat and have no relation to anything that happens in the game lol.
EDIT: Also Part 3 -- I hope this feature continues to Twin Snakes, Portable Ops, Peace Walker, and Acid 1 and 2 haha
Can't wait for them to get to the cardboard box puzzles. Also hope they uncover the secret that this is actually Raiden playing through a sim mission though of course to get to that they have to do the VR missions which will never happen (and which, by the way -- that would be an awesome team feature. Try to 100% the VR missions in MGS2 Substance)
For anyone who is dying inside watching this like me, just FYI, Waypoint is doing a similar playthrough but for XCOM 2 over on their twitch. Not trying to divert traffic but the only thing keeping me going on this run is knowing Austin and Rob are actually being tactical, and you know, reading as they play.
Pound for pound they're not that much better at XCOM than Beast though! They're better at base and team management but they're far too cautious in combat, and they make small mistakes like Beast too. Not knocking either though; both these series are so good.
I've generally enjoyed the way Abby's been playing this so far, but the lack of patience in this episode was a little frustrating. The game's throwing prompts, tooltips, and other info screens at you for a reason. I want to see what they are and I imagine it's not helpful if Vinny isn't able to read them as he's the one that has to communicate all this info to the other two (assuming he doesn't watch back through this to see/research those things, given he certainly has much better stuff to do).
For me, it's in the same camp as Dan skipping Yakuza 0 dialogue... it becomes tiring pretty quickly. Otherwise a great episode, as per!
