Watched Apostle last night, I really enjoyed it though I don't view it as much of a horror movie. It is more just a suspense movie that takes place in a kind of horror setting (even then it isn't really a main point of the setting). Really enjoyed the score and how the film was shot, built a strong atmosphere with the performances. Definitely got some Raid vibes from it but also felt like a good example that Gareth Evans can do more than just that kind of action.

Final Fantasy 15 got me good. Came out right as I was finishing classes for the semester and I just would lose hours and hours of the day playing. Typically I have trouble playing a game for more than an hour or two nowadays unless I am playing with friends. When I was younger I would sit there for hours and I got teleported right back to then with FF15. I am not a huge JRPG fan but have always had a soft spot for the Final Fantasy games, and Kingdom Hearts as well so I fully expect to become an edgy 12 year old again when KH3 comes out.

@brunothethird: Been enjoying playing some funk songs, Earth Wind and Fire mostly, but my favourite so far is Wires by Red Fang. Was already a big fan of the band before so it is a song I know well and is fairly easy to play along too until the end.

Playing a whole bunch at the moment: Hollow Knight, Destiny 2's dlc, SF Anniversary Collection, Vampyr, AC Rogue, and then my usual stand bys of Overwatch, SFV, and Rocksmith. Rocksmith is the one I am loving the most. I got it as someone who had never played guitar and wanted to use it as a tool to help me learn. I am far from good and I don't think it always breeds good habits but it has made the learning process quite fun and rewarding. Having an easy way to practice songs, with feedback on how I am doing, and difficulty ramp ups to help build up more difficult songs is awesome.

Don't think a game ever has been, nor will be, set where I live. Spent a lot of time in Seattle though and have kind used that for this experience. I agree with Second Son, Pacific Center feels really accurate but the rest of the city doesn't really feel much like Seattle in my opinion. I also totally played the Green Lake court in NBA Street, it was uncanny how accurate it seemed. I'll also say Deadly Premonition does a pretty good job portraying a rural town in the Pacific Northwest, Alan Wake as well does a good job with the same setting.

I haven't played much this season but from my past experience I found a severe drop off in community quality between Low Gold and High Gold. Myself and most of friends pretty consistently sit in mid-platinum but another friend typically lands High Silver or Low Gold and the difference in matches is crazy. He would get people throwing, quitting, sending salty messages, etc. practically every other game, while I normally see people quitting maybe 1 in 10 matches. My other friends around the same rating as me seem to have the same frequency as me. It could also be that I pretty much exclusively play with a couple other people, so the matchmaking puts us into more matches with groups, and thus people are less likely to quit or throw.

There are some F bombs thrown around and probably a damn or shit that I just didn't notice. I would say the much bigger issue is the violence, and brutality, shown in the game. It is just bloody, but it is overtly brutal with Kratos doing his Kratos thing where he rips jaws, severs heads, impales things, etc. It isn't really on the same gore level as 3 or Ascension, I haven't seen an horseman's intestines spill out yet, but it is still pretty intense.

Assassin's Creed Unity is the best one in the series. You have a likable protagonist who has an actual struggle related to the game's world. You get to play around in a way under utilized setting in the French Revolution. The combat is stylish but your character is not an unstoppable killing machine. The equipment systems help encourage different styles. The co-op missions are totally fun when playing with a friend. The games looks absolutely gorgeous (when it isn't breaking).

It has plenty of issues, and some other entries do certain things better but I don't think any does as good of a job being an overall Assassin's Creed game than Unity does. The technical issues that plagued the game sadly made it so the general opinion of the game is poor. I also get how plenty of people would prefer 4 and Origins, and I think they are great games but just not great Assassin's Creed games.
