No seriously, 10 years from now, people will STILL be playing Dota2 and still be going crazy over it. Dota 1 has been out for ages, and it's still being played.

I get what you're saying, but I wouldn't say it's a micro-transaction related thing. It's more of a modern game design thing, games have just moved away from that sort of thing. I think that's one of the positives people have to say about Demon's/Dark Souls is that there's that element that you can find/break things in the game. I remember as a kid finding things like this and then sharing it with friends and it was awesome.
