The guys at Simogo have made another awesome iOS game in Device 6. Part puzzle adventure game and part The Prisoner, the narrative is presented in a way that really takes advantage of the iPad. Great 2-3 hour game. Wish there were more of these thriller type games out there.

People feel like they've lost a friend, because they really have. We're all used to listening to the Bombcast week after week for years. The way that the crew shoots the shit in regards to gaming and life in general is so inviting, it makes you feel like you're sitting there with them. Hell, I've had plenty of times I've verbally responded to some of their comments knowing full well I'm talking to myself. Sometimes I feel like I hear these guys more frequently than some of my actual friends. And there's always some story or tidbit from the Bombcast that I always tell my girlfriend every week, that she knows I think of these guys as more than just some dudes on the internet.

So really, no one should feel even the slightest bit silly if you tell people you've lost a good friend. And even if no one in your life understands, that's what the forums here are for. We're all here to support one another and to help. One of the reasons why I love this community just as much as I love the Giant Bomb guys who helped foster it.

Would love to get a key and play a couple of games this weekend. Long time LoL player who stopped playing late last year and caught up in the zeitgeist of Dota2. Steam ID is zigx. Would much appreciate it!

I went on a small search for one last Monday after hearing that some stores still had them in stock. I didn't find one and considered going on a more full scale search later in the week, but I didn't. Glad I didn't, since the only real reason I want one is to satiate buying a new shiny thing. Well, that, and Patrick's glowing review of ZombiU. But I figure I should save the money and hold off until there are a handful of games that I want to play.

Great article Patrick! Glad to see another horror themed article on the site.

I think there's an interesting article to be written about why people continue to play horror games that scare the crap out of them. Not saying that it doesn't make sense for someone to do that, I myself keep going back to psychological and suspenseful horror games and movies despite the fact that I tend to scare myself. But it would be interesting to hear why people do it. After all, people who don't get scared at these types of games probably aren't the ones playing them.

@Dewar: There isn't an Illuminati Cabal at the moment. Though even the Templar Cabal has been pretty quiet as of late, with only 2 other people I've seen on regularly. If you're looking for a super active Cabal might be better to join one on your own and just participate in the Giantbomb channel chat.

@Grimhild: I would agree with much of what project343 says. Both in the % spend doing the various kinds of missions as well as saying not to dismiss the other types of missions just because they might have standard MMO types of goals. Even in the various kill X of X missions I never felt like the story behind why you were doing it was some throwaway reasoning. Nothing like "Hey I'm a farmer, could you kill these wolves that are being jerks? That'd be cool."

Also to your earlier comments, that's kinda what I thought you were asking about the whole shoe horned in question. So to answer that, no I don't think they're putting in investigation missions just to make good on a promise. My view on investigation missions being in the minority is they want to make sure  each investigation mission feels unique and is well designed. Rather than have the same hooks for every investigation.

They've mentioned how they're committed to providing new content to the game on a monthly basis and that the first few updates will add more investigation missions to each zone. If you're still on the fence about it I would wait to see how these monthly updates pan out. Even as someone who is enjoying this game a lot right now, I have my reservations about promised updates as the last MMO who promised monthly updates out of the gate fell flat on it's face about it (looking at you DCUO) and ended up losing a lot of momentum.
