I had never met the man, but he really did change my world

I've never met Ryan Davis, or any of the giant bomb crew, but they've had such a profound impact on my life it's crazy.

I first found Giant Bomb back when the kinect launched. It's kind of funny since my first exposure was to Ryan trying desperately to hop over a fence with that goddamned horse. Since that wondrous bout of laughter I stuck around this site and lurked many months. I learned about whiskey media, and generally my interests in films with Navarro and Rorie grew, and I became more informed of tech with Smith and Chan. Did I grow more knowledgeable perhaps? Eh sure.

But through it all what kept me here was Giant Bomb, and the "In-depth" coverage of video games. I started listening to the podcast, at first confused who was talking since Vinny and Brad sounded so much alike back then, and then watching quick looks and so on. What's important here is that they kept me interested in games and were telling stories about how much fun the people are, and that creativity really does exist within this medium. So as time progressed I read more news articles, blogs, etc. And kept up on gaming history and general knowledge while drawing on the side. One day a letter was shot to a college in Vancouver asking about their 3D animation courses. They asked to see my work, I showed my work then bim bam boom here I am in Vancouver. Fitter, generally happy, and less of a recluse as I attend college. I've met many good friends, and my world has expanded so much so from my tiny basement apartment. All because Ryan, and the rest of the bomb crew kept me interested in gaming.

Thank you Mr. Ryan Taswell Davis, and everyone else here that remind me of why I'm here on the coast. I wish I could have shaken your sweaty sweaty hand then perhaps wear a shirt that says, "I touched the Davis"

I didn't have much prepared for today in the ways of drawing but I have this piece I did a while back. I hope it makes someone smile through it's sketchy bullshit.
