I ended up going with the 5850, and after a month of blue screening at random intervals, it's been smooth sailing.  No issues whatsoever!  I'm quite happy with my new rig.  If only more PC games came out... oh well.  TF2 is taking up my time more and more lately, which is a goooood thing.

I AM a quester, though!  Not to completely waste bandwidth, here's what's racing through my mind. 
Do I get a 470 GTX or a 5850?  The 470 has (technically) more features, and I know I can rely on NVIDIA for driver updates.  On the other hand, though, the 5850 is just as good in just about every game, runs much cooler, uses less power and is cheaper.  But I've heard bad things about ATI drivers...  I think I'm going with ATI!
