Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! You may have noticed from the New Super Mario Bros 2 Quick Look that there's a new staff member uploading videos. His name is Andy Bauman and he is CBSi's new video producer and he'll be helping out Drew and Vinny from now on. Welcome him to the site if you haven't done so already and follow him on Twitter if you are interested @andybauman. In terms of getting the entire Giant Bomb family together rejoice with the fact that this upcoming Monday, August the 20th, will mark the return of Patrick Klepek! If you haven't seen already from Twitter it sounds like he's having a great time in Maui for his Honeymoon. Finally people seem to have found a new found interest with the Giant Bomb Flight club as TWO hilarious fan YouTube videos were made this week. as Summer of Arcade 2012 comes to a close check out the wiki page for what many are considering to be the highlight of the entire showcase, Dust: An Elysian Tail. Also with some big release this week there are some wiki pages for new games worth checking out. The Sleeping Dogs wiki details the odd and trouble path the the game took to get released. The Darksiders II wiki gives you a brief story update as well as an item break down. With The Last Story finally coming out in the United States check out what all the excitement is about on our wiki page for teh game. Finally the Labrys and Armored Core wiki pages take the cake for most detailed and massive contributions the last week.
As big releases start to trickle out the Giant Bomb users have been blogging away. Sackmanjones discuss his first ten hours with Sleeping Dogs and why he thinks is an enjoyable game so far. User yeah_write talks about how users that are making a big deal over "furies" when it comes to Dust: An Elysian Tail should just chill out and play the game. Video_Game_King is turning Japanese with his blog about Nazo no Murasamejo and Elebits while takashichea has created a blog showcasing the most prominent members of Giant Bomb's Fire Emblem sub-community. DuskVamp gives you an update with her romantic adventures with Wrighteous86 at Chicago. MMMman on the other descends into the dark world of playing video game after drinking heavily and details his misadventures on his latest blog. Metal_Gear_Sunny has started Persona 3 FES and details his progress with the game as well as his thoughts. Seppli makes a point about how gamertags make multiplayer in video games hard to take serious. With PAX Prime coming up Marino has re-constructed his PAX survival guide for all of those who plan on going to the event. ArbitraryWater is back to his old tricks in playing old games and blogged about Conker's Bad Fur Day this time while user Grand pontificates upon the evolution of MMos and what impact that has had on single player experiences in MMOs. Hamst3r has started a new Let's Play series, this time for ZOMBIES by indie developer Bignic. hsvlad showcases his photography in non-photo specific games while eccentrix continues to tackle his Steam backlog with a blog about both 18 Wheels of Steel games. Yummylee compares and contrasts the multiplayer in Gears of War 3 to Uncharted 3 and list the positives and negatives of both. Mento shows off three games that surprised him while Fobwashed surprises with his wonderful Mega Man x Giant Bomb fan art.
A great deal of applause should be given to GB user madreisz for making a custom search engine for the Bombcast. That's right you now search for any Bombcasts you are interested in re-experiencing using his tool. The site keeps up with last week in maintain our Persona levels with Irvandus detailing his efforts to re-create Inaba from Persona 4 in Minecraft and you can check out his progress thus far on his thread. Icemo on the other hand has some Persona 4 Arena wallpaper for you to check out and use. Finally we have two thread for showing of the wacky things you have created and done in Kerbal Space Program.
The medley of lists this week range from the personal to the humorous. GB user foxonfire has created a list of all of his significant gaming milestones from 1990 to 2000. Mento has written a hotly sarcastic list of him reconsidering his dislike for various water related game concepts and characters. StorFoxA has created a list of Indie game that you might want to keep on your radar when they come out.
