Gaming in 2013

This list is intended to be a list of all the games that I played in 2013. I kept a similar list for 2012, and I found the concepts to be interesting, so i figure i would keep doing it. For the most part, i'll add any game that i put almost any time into, with a brief comment about them.

And woah, i have already passed up my total for 2012, well i did so about 7 months in.

List items

  • PC, 2012: Got it off amazon when it was $5. The game is alright, but i don't really feel like it makes the pc feel powerful, or cool. I notice a lot of small items, that i guess could be used, but i can never figure out where the other item for them is... are... whatever.

  • PS3, 2007: This is the last of the ps3 games that i got, so i figure i would give it a try. The ratchet and clank series has always seem like fun, until i started playing them... hopefully this one will change my mind.

  • PC, 2012: Gave it another go while i was getting cards for it. It was a better experience this time, well, i had a better experience with it, mainly due to having a team that was winning.

  • PC, 2011: another game that i was messing around while getting cards. I think if i ever do fully game back into it, i would want to use a world editor to just build what i wanted.

  • PC, 2012: Same as above... i still dislike how all the maps feel like they were design for 2 players.

  • PC, 2008: I bought the GoTY edition of this game during the steam summer sale to check out the dlc... It was alright, but i still think Fallout New Vegas was better, and so was the DLC for New Vegas (well most of them).

  • PC, 2010: Got it in the telltale bundle. So far, i am enjoying the game. I would say about 80% of the puzzles so far seem fair (the answers made sense, even when i didn't get them)... however, like most puzzle games, there are just those puzzles that are incorrectly presented to the point where the puzzle becomes understanding what the devs want you to put, rather than figuring out what the puzzle is.

  • PC, 2007: Got this in a humble bundle. The game has some nice elements to it, but it seems to be missing something extra that would make it fun to play. I know that sounds harsh, but the more i play this game, the more i wonder why i am spending any time with it... it seems like it should be fun, but it isn't.

  • PC, 2012: Got this in a bundle. I figure that since i like the space battle one that i would like this one... that was incorrect. This one, while interesting, isn't what i wanted. I figure it would be like the space one, where i would deploy units with commands and watch how they do, instead i got a tower defense/offense game that was... alright.

  • PC, 2001: Got it during the steam sale... the game wasn't much of a fallout/rpg game. It was set in the universe, but it lacked a lot of what makes a fallout. Not sure why, but i put about 25 hours into it, just to see the ending... i guess i wanted to say that i have played all the fallout games or something.

  • PC, 2010: Played a little bit since they added cards to it on steam... still not liking it... yet i want to play more... but won't... and some more dots for good measure...

  • PC, 2009: Got it in a bundle a while ago... and yup, it plays nearly exactly like the last one... gah, i really shouldn't keep playing it, but i believe i will.

  • 3DS, 2011: Got a 3DS xl, and i figure i should get this title, since i heard both good/bad things about it. The bad was that it starts off kind of dull (which so far is true), and the good was that after that it becomes amazing. Hopefully that part is true.

  • 3DS, 2012 (i think), been playing the mini-games here all week, and well, they have me kind of hooked. I might end up buying the dlc ones too.

  • PC, 2010: Got it in a bundle. Didn't know it was a puzzle game, it is alright, but without a story or reward system, i am not going to keep playing this.

  • PC, ????: Got it in a bundle, didn't like.

  • PC, ????: Got it in a bundle, and like the last one, didn't like it.

  • PC, 2011: Got it in a bundle, and found it to be a below average game... but it was better than the first two... but not good enough to play through.

  • PC, 2012: Played during a free weekend, and found the game to be alright. It an above average mmo, and if i had extra time, i might play it more, but i don't, so i don't think i'll go back to this game.

  • WiiU, 2012: Played at a friends house... and it is just more dance.

  • 3DS, 2013: Just started and so far things are pretty good. I haven't gotten to anything noteable, but it is solid.

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a bundle, and it is alright. Put about 1.5 hours into it and i think am good. There isn't much to the game, but what is there is fun (but not enough to make me play it more).

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a humble bundle and it is a very good game. I just spend the last day and a half playing it, and i was very entertain through out it.

  • PC, 2009: Got it in a bundle. So far it is pretty fun, although, i think i did youtube the videos for it a while ago.

  • PC, 2013: Got it in a bundle, interesting idea, but the game itself isn't much fun. Also, the ai movements are annoying, as they tend to not defend their towns, and instead just attack the enemy town.

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a bundle, another interesting idea game, that doesn't play very well.

  • PC, 2013: Got it in a bundle, so far, it is alright, but a bit odd. Not sure if i'll like it in the end.

  • PS3, 2012: Got it from PS+... and yup, it a pinball game. The Starwars tables are alright, but like i said, it is a pinball game, so i wasn't into it.

  • PS3, 2001: Got the HD remake from PS+. The game isn't bad, but it is dated.

  • PC, 1997: Got it in a humble bundle, and well, it is the same duke nukem that i remember... which is both a good and bad thing.

  • PC, 2013: Got it in a bundle, figure i would give a try during the free weekend (since there should be more people)... yeah, this game just isn't good. It is a 2d shooter, that lacks personality and fun gameplay.

  • PC, 2011: Got it in a bundle. So far, i am enjoying this game. I just completed the normal campaign, and now i am on the dlc stuff. I do enjoy that the different characters are different, and that i am able to get a lot out of the game by playing by myself (unlike Orcs must die 2, where it felt that i was at a big disadvantage since i didn't have a co-op partner).

  • PC, 2009: Got it and a lot of its dlc in a bundle. The game is alright, but so far, it seems rather simple... it has a big map, but it isn't full of things to do. There no single player story to speak of, and the visual aren't good. I think i'll try it for another hour or two, but if it doesn't pick up, then am out.

Update: Well, now that i have more time, i decided that i won't go back to this game after all. With so many good games out there (i just picked up xcom), i don't feel like wasting any time on this game.

  • PC, 2013: Got it in a bundle. It was made by the A valley without wind guys, i think, and it shows. The game has some charm, but overall, it isn't fun so far. I hope there some kind of base building aspect to it, but right now, just walking around, is boring.

Update: put some more time into it, and my opinion didn't change for the better.

  • 3DS, 2011: Got it on sale, since it was worth some nintendo coins... yeah, to put it nicely, the non-real nintendo coins were the best part of this package...

  • PC, 1999: Got it in a bundle, figure i would replay it since it has been a while... and yeah, it is still great... and it is also scary still, even after all these years (and the fact that i have already played it too).

  • 3DS, 2013: Got this game recently, about an hour in, and it is fun. It isn't anything dramatically different about it, but the overall improvements are nice.

  • PC, 2013: I got this game in a humble bundle a while ago. I thought it was at rts or sorts, something like dungeon keeper, but it turns out it is more diablo-ish. It i a hack and slash game, and not a very good one at that. There is a DM mode, which was ok, but simple. Overall, i put less than an hour into it, and i feel no need to play it any more.

  • PC, 2009 (after): Got it in a bundle, and didn't expect it to be tbs game. So far, it is ok, i think i'll put some more time into it to see where it goes.

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a bundle, and i have to say... this game, is actual alright. I am cheating heavy in it, so my opinion is skewed, but in any case, am having some fun going through this game. At first i wasn't for the first few hours, i was just trying to get through it since i owned it, but now that am nearing the end, am kind of enjoying it.

  • WiiU, 2013: Played at a friends house and it is more Just Dance...

  • WiiU, 2013: Played at a friends house, and it was fun... didn't play much, since no one else wanted to play, so didn't want to be the odd person out, so i stopped after a level.

  • PC, 2013: Got it from a co-worker, and it is pretty good. As it core, it is just more xcom, but since xcom was great to begin with, that make this a great thing. It would have been nice to have a new story, or at least, a different story, but for what it is, it is good.

  • Pc, 2011: Played during the free trial period on steam... it like a single player borderlands, which while fun gameplay wise, means it also has a crappy story. I did not pick it up, since the single player didn't have a good story.

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a humble bundle, and I have to say that this game is great. While most games claim that you can explore their world, this game actually made being lost a fun activity. That was mainly due to the fact that you can change most of the terrain in order to get around and solve puzzles.

  • PC, 1988: Got this game since i backed a kickstarter... and i have to say, that i did not enjoy this game. There was little direction or story, and the gameplay was dull. I know it an old game, but i thought it would be better.

  • PC, 1997: Another old game, and another one that i didn't care for.

  • 3DS, 2013: So far, am having a lot of fun with this title. There a lot to do and explore, i hope that it last a while.

  • PC, 2012: Got it a bundle. I wasn't sure what it was before i got it, but after playing it for a little bit, it seems like this was just a simple puzzle game based off the old connect the pipes to get the water from point a to point b game. It had a charming story, but dull puzzles.

  • PC, 2012: Played this a little, and it seem like this is a squad base rts game with rpg elements. The story is bland, and the game itself was average.

  • PC, 1998: Got it in a x-com bundle. Didn't know they made a space shooter game. Played it for a little bit, and it was... well, it wasn't good, but then again it was made in 98, so i shouldn't have expected much.

  • PC, 2001: Got it in a x-com bundle. So this is a 3rd person shooter, and not a good one at that. There is little to no story, and it plays like serious sam, but without the charm.

  • PC, 20??: This is a puzzle game where you match up 3 of the same color in order to make them disappear from the board. The trick in this one is that they have arrow on the pieces that shoot out a beam that can connect the pieces together. Overall it was an alright puzzle game, but not one that am looking for.

  • PC, 2012: This is a hack n slash game (a diablo-ish clone). And well, if i wanted to play diablo, i would (or torchlight, whichever).

  • PC, 2013: Play through this game recently, and i have to say that it was rather fun. The story was big, but done on a small scale, so it didn't feel too comical. The characters were... well, they did their job, they weren't great, nor were they horrible. The MP is rather fun, i do enjoy 64 player maps with tons of chaos going on.

  • PC, 2012: This is a rather fun rts. It main gimmick (which i like) is that there isn't mirco management of units, instead of selecting units, you select groups and then issue them commands. There are no special abilities, turn radius, or clicks per minute thingy that you need to worry about. Instead you can actual focus on strategy on a larger scale.

  • PC, 201X?: Well, i played the beta for this recently, and i wasn't entertain like i thought i would be. I know it is still in beta, but my issue with it isn't technical, it more with the main concept of the game. I knew it was a card game before hand, it just, well, for some reason, i thought i would like it, but i don't. The core game works, it just isn't fun.

  • PC, ????: Played this game recently, well played the beta recently and it turns out that this is a lemmings type of puzzle game. It was alright, but too simple. It didn't draw me in, but nor did it bore me.

  • PC, 2010: Got it in a bundle, and it appears that this game is a action rpg game. I only played it for about 30 mins, but it in that time i was bored and confused by the story. It isn't that it a bad game, it just that i have played games that are similar to this, but so much better, so i didn't enjoy this game.

  • PC, 2011: Got it in bundle a while ago, and so far the game is fun, it reminds me of serious sam, but in the future, and less about tons of enemies, and more about destroying objects to destroy enemies.

  • PC, 2012: Got it in a bundle a while ago, and the game was alright. It was a decent stealth game, with some charming elements to it. However, the gameplay was average, so i didn't get that far into it before i stopped.

  • PC, 2011: This turn out to be an action game with simple controls. Overall it was alright, decent game play, nice story (the sound track helped a lot).

  • PC, 2012: Played it a little, it was fun, since it was a refine scribblenaut experience.

  • PC, 2012: Played about 2 matches, and fun it to be fun, even though, my team never won, and the games/maps are poorly design (they last too long).

  • PC, 2013: Didn't get to far in, but so far it seems to be more of the same. While am interested in the story, i doubt i'll finish it unless i figure out a way to cheat at the single player.

  • PC, 2013: It a fun tower defense game, i think i'll play it some more, but i'll prolly give the first one some time too before i return to the second.

  • PC, 2011: This isn't a game, but it is still fun to mess with this tool to see what would happen.

  • PC, 2012: Playing through it again at home since i have the dlc, and i wanted to create a save file for season 2.

  • PC, 2013: Got it recently, and this is a rather fun game... plus it is easy to cheat at, so there that...

  • PC, 2011: Got the dlc recently, so i figure i would play through it again on the pc since there new stuff (and i can cheat... I did all the main stuff on the ps3 when it came out 2 years ago, so am using cheats this time to speed things along).
