Hitmonkey or Deadpool?

Well, I suppose most of us saw the announcement trailer for Deadpool. Despite my relative lack of knowledge of character, from what I've heard from other people, it was consistent with the character himself. Still, I can't shake off a feeling that this will be another God of War/DMC like game.

On the other hand, before the game was announced at SDCC, High Moon Studios put up a website for a Hit Monkey game. Now I know that that was a hoax, so my question to Bombcast is kind of wasted. Damn. Nevertheless, I feel like this is a bit of a missed opportunity. While Hit Monkey is not a household name and will probably (almost definitely) sell less copies, there would be much more room for creativity in gameplay mechanics. Traversing the environment and executing enemy mooks with agility of a macaque sounds like fun to me.

So, what do you guys think? Is it a lost opportunity? Or will High Moon actually make an excellent Deadpool game?

High Moon's been doing some good games since they got started so if they get a good writer behind this to make it fit the character, it might be good. I'll at least play it to find out but until it comes out hard to tell how a good/bad a deadpool game will be.

I personally think Deadpool works best when he is allowed to interact with the rest of the Marvel universe. If it's just him spouting one-liners and killing mercenaries, then I think it might fall flat for me.

Wolverine at least has to be in the game. He has to.

I'm sure there will be other Marvel characters in there like Wolverine and other just-as boring characters as him :P
They have already shown that they know about, and probably read, the comics.

Also, a Devil May Cry like game but with Deadpool in it is not a bad idea.

And there is lies the problem. Deadpool's comics have not actually been good in a very long time. However, he's great in X-Force, and whenever he makes an appearance in someone else's book.
