Still playing it and loving it. I got my Jedi Guardian to 50. On him, I currently run the daily quests and work towards gearing him. When I get bored with him I hop on my Sith Sorcerer and fry things with lightning. The game rehashes a lot of MMO standards, but I enjoy the lore and the class story lines quite a bit. I like the companions because I mostly duo with a friend of mine. They allow us to accomplish quite a bit with a 2 man group.
I expect to be playing the game for quite some time because most of the class quests are told well. Rerolling isn't so bad with a decent story to pull you through to 50. End game appears to be what all MMOs turn into. Grind PvP, daily quests, hard/elite dungeons, and raid. Nothing new, but still fun.
On a final note, I find PvP to be horrid in this game. I don't mind so much since I'm just a PvE player now, but, it really feels like it was an afterthought.
I'm about 8 or 9 hours into this game. I'm getting the living shit kicked out of me, stomping around, throwing my controller and using liberal amounts of the phrase, "fuck this shit!" ....but I'm having an absolute blast.
Well I preordered about a week ago, and I'm excited. I'm not expecting the second coming of MMOs, I'm expecting a story driven MMO with companions in space, so I doubt I will be disappointed.
I played WoW for quite a while and enjoyed it so if the combat is similar, I'm cool with that. Plus I don't have time for WoW endgame anymore so the idea of just rerolling and having a whole new story is pretty exciting for me.
All in all I'm just excited to make a smuggler and shoot first, with a wookie by my side.
Pretty much my thoughts too. Not looking for anything revolutionary here. Just want a decent story and a lot of single player/small group action.
So are you still playing? I too recently reactivated my old subscription. Unfortunately it appears my old toons were wiped. That's ok because I wanted to start from the bottom. I've only had a chance to play for a few hours so I'm still relearning the game. Are you still playing and enjoying it?
A lot of people bought it to see if it could hold up to the nostalgia of Duke 3d. It didn't. For a FPS it lacked a lot of the "shooting" element. Too bad. It still had a few fun parts.
Being a PC gamer primarily, I still fail to see why people give a shit if it goes to console. If you like Valve games and want the company to succeed you have to realize they need money to do so. Opening their market to console gamings increases revenue. It is a business after all. Buy the game for PC then if you hate the consoles.
