Project Guard is a game being developed by a team led by Shigeru Miyamoto at Nintendo for the Wii U. At E3 2014, the game, still in its prototype stage, was demonstrated for the first time. The basic gameplay revolves around defending bases from robot invaders. Each stage begins with the player placing twelve security cameras around the base. Each camera's display is visible on the television screen. On the GamePad, the player can only access one camera at a time, but can use the cameras to attack robots that appear in their view. Certain robots can likewise attack and temporarily disable individual cameras.
As demonstrated at E3, the game is ideally played by a group of people, with one player taking control of the lasers while others focus on the TV and relay which cameras robots appear on. To clear a stage, the player must keep the core of the base from being destroyed by the robots.
