What difficulty were you playing on?

Yup. That's the exact reason why I wish that I would've not wasted my money on this and get Blazblue, a game that I know I would've enjoyed, but instead I got Prototype a few weeks ago since I though open world= more value.  Too bad all of the great open world stuff and just messing around is all ruined later in the game when military and infected are everywhere making things nearly impossible to just mess around and have fun.  Also, much like the OP, I rather enjoyed Prototype at first, but it's desperate attempts at difficulty just ruin it, and the fact that when you do beat those missions you just feel like you cheated the system rather than used skill.

 After beating Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden II I vowed that I wouldn't play a game that pisses me off to no end since that completely ruins the whole purpose of why I play games, since I just want to have fun with them, which doesn't mean that it shouldn't be challenging at all, but it certaintly shouldn't make me want to slit my wrists out of frustration either.

i didnt think the game was that hard...yea sure one of the boss fights i must have tried like 5 times, but u just have to try new strategies

For it came down to either getting inFAMOUS or Prototype, I got the former. It seems I made the right choice.

All you really have to do is constantly shoot the machine guns, shoot the cannon when possible, and use lock-on targeting for everything in that game.

having beaten it on the hardest difficulty without dying, I'd just say you suck

I agree with OP. The later sections of the game are just so messy and cluttered that it gets so tedious just getting from A to B.

I definitely see your point and I was probably at the level of anger/frustration that you are. But I persevered and finally finished it over the holiday weekend but at what a price. I haven't taken my anger out on a controller in a long time but that last boss is such a dick.

I agree, the games beginning was shit easy but later it got hard out of no where. That last boss fight really pissed me off as well. For some reason everytime I tried to pull off a devastator it would just read it as me charging 'B'.

Also the lock on was fucking retarded. I'm fighting that last boss and hit lock on and it'll lock on to like a soldier running around. I'm carrying a helicopter to throw, I don't want to hit a stupid foot soldier I want to hit the big fucking thing following me around.

Other than the few times I got really frustrated, the game was decent. I'd give it 3/5.
I'll say this, this game is a good game to base future superhero games off of. Like if they ever had the urge to make another spiderman game, they should really take alot of the mechanics from this game. The jumping (which seems to be wrongfully negated in most Spiderman games) is spot on in this game.

That being said, I knew I'd get bored of this game really fast, so I'm glad I rented it :D

I don't see how you giving up halfway through the game makes me suck.  As for any proof I actually did that, just look at my achievements.  The time and date for having beaten it on the hardest difficulty and having beaten it without dying are the exact same.  I can understand not wanting to do what I did, but giving up halfway through a game where the hardest mission is the third or fourth one (you passed it already) is indeed, pretty damn sucky.  That's not even the reason I think you suck though.  If you're not great at a game and aren't having fun with it, you have every right to quit.  However, making a blog condemning it and labeling it an impossible mess that no one can ever finish is a different story.

Its not hard its just getting old school difficult, like ninja gaiden did :p

It's not challanging hard, its fustrating in "how  the fuck is that possible?" kind of way. I mean in the beginning of the game your awesome and pretty much unstopable. By the time your back to those 18 days you don't do nearly as much damage. I found the bosses not that bad, just had to figure out a plan. The missions though are some of the worst thought out designs within the past 10 years.

As far as oldschool hard is concered half of those games were hard because of the limitaions they had. There are certain things in this game that were put in place to fuck with you. What's the point of having health upgrades when you still start off at the minimum health, and your health doesnt regenerate all the way ( non crit mass)  What's the point of being super speedy when half the time the camera goes into convulsions? What's the point of having powers but you need to use military weapons half the time?
I mean doing the Challanges and running around doing the achievements/trophies is fun for sure. It's just the missions or rather the mission structure thats poorly layed out.

Also I found that the super soilders are way easyer to get away from  then it was normal soilders with rocket launchers. Hell, it is easyer to evade and take out helicopters then rocket soilders.

The games not horrible, but its not properly thought out either.

OP that part was easy, get the blade upgrades.

Last boss was easy too, devastator attack near it gurantees stunning it nearly everytime.

I had trouble on bosses, but as for the tank mission, its all about strategy most of the time.
but yeah, the game is weak and its only worth a rental.

I have to agree with you.  Having not played a lot of open world games, I don't have as much experience with this kinda stuff.  The game gets really frustrating later on and I normally stop playing for a couple of days it turns me away so much.

DUDE, I totally know what you mean!

I'm at the mission right now where you have to protect that truck that's shooting blood gas, or whatever the hell it is (I'm not following the story to tell the truth, I borrowed the game from a friend and just want to beat it for the action), and those freaking big ass hunters keep spawning and spawning and I can keep Alex on high health but they always freakin' destroy that truck I'm supposed to be protecting.

Damn Radical.

I beat the game no problem. Wasn't that complicated to me.

It does get a bit unfair towards the end. And....really fuckin annoying. Best tip to stay alive? Just keep running. Run away, consume, come back, run away, consume, come back, rinse and repeat.
