I recently saw a second hand PSP 2000 cheap and was wondering wheather it is worth buying or if I should wait for a PSP2 since the console came out in 2005

Yeah, the PSP 2000/3000 is worth buying -- the PSP GO is a waste of money and it's nothing but an slightly upgraded Sony PSP.

Whenever, Sony decides to come to reality and lower the pricing of the Go (perhaps it won't be a bad buy after all).

I would say go with the PSP 2000 as well, Since it can do pretty much everything the go can and actually more. I've heard that the battery life is actually good on the psp 2000 when running stuff on the sd card.

@Flaminglizard: If it matters to you, the psp 2000 is the easiest version to put custom firmware on.Last time I checked, the 3000 is still impossible to do so.

No, because it's still a PSP.

ZING!

I think it would be, it's not like 2000s can't run certain software or something. Just be prepared for patches out the wazoo and...if it's cheap, yeah. i doubt they're looking to get a new PSP out soon anyways.

I bought a PSP not too long ago and have had a difficult time putting it down ever since. I'm not into hacking and running illegal programs, so I'm thankful that its gaming library is as great as it is. Since it has been out for a while, there are a number of decent titles that can be had for relatively cheap. So far I've bought Rockband, Crisis Core, God of War and Resistance and they all rock! Hopefully by the time I'm through with them, Gran Turismo, FF: Dissidia and Chinatown Wars will become Greatest Hits as well.

The games are cheap and some are excellent, so if the system is cheap, you haven't really got much to lose.

However, in saying that, with about 40 games and 2 PSP, I haven't played a game on them for months.   The last one I tried was Final Fantasy Crisis Core and I lasted about 10 minutes.  I just dislike how the PSP controls.
