The Pub Fund is a Sony program that provides an advance royalty payment for self-published games by independent developers, in exchange for timed exclusivity for PlayStation platforms.

The Pub Fund is an incentive program run by Sony Computer Entertainment to encourage independent developers to self-publish their games on the PlayStation Network. It provides the developer with an advance payment (usually capped at $500,000) against future royalties upon the game passing certification, and other benefits like marketing/PR support from Sony and no fees for patching. In exchange, the game becomes a timed exclusive for PlayStation platforms. Since the launch of the Vita, Sony has stated their intention to use the Pub Fund to bolster the development of titles for the platform.
