Next Level Games, behind the Mario Striker series, is set to develop Punch Out!! on Wii.

Personally, I'm skeptical of this choice. Due to the desire for not only a hardcore game in general, but the specific outcry for a Punch Out!! sequel on Wii, I'm surprised a higher team hasn't been put on the job. Maybe this will be Next Level's next level, if you know what I mean.

    Or, it could suck.

And the second did better critically. Mario Strikers is one of the "good" Mario spinoffs, and they definately have great source material to work with in the case of Punchout!. I'm not terribly worried.

I think it's safe to say that with the way that the game turned out, Next Level was more than up to the task.  Bravo to the development team, I say!
