This is a direct sequel to Quake 2, leaving you as a Marine struggling against the Strogg for your life.
Overview
Quake 4 is a direct sequel to Quake II, and was one of the first launch games on the Xbox 360 Console. The two games versions were quite different in performance. The Xbox 360 version was known for its flaws, issues, muddy textures, and difficulty running the game's key events, while the PC version did not suffer from these flaws. The game is also known for its long loading times and frequent ones. Some versions of this release came with a bonus disc that contained a version of Quake II that could be played on the Xbox 360.Story
The story of Quake 4 starts off at the exact point of where Quake II left off. It starts out with you, Matthew Kane. and your fellow Marines, the Rhino Squad, heading towards Stroggos while in a squadship. However, partway through the flight, your ship is shot down by an anti-air gun. This shot sends you hurtling towards Stroggos, to crash moments later. You awaken to find that you have crashed in the middle of a battle between the Strogg, the alien race that inhabits Stroggos, and seperate Marine Squads. You find that your squad is missing, so you venture to the nearest help and find that they are up ahead. After a you help a smaller squad, you reunite with your team and continue your mission, to take advantage of the dead Makron and take the capital of Stroggos.
Featuring the trademark corridor-crawling action made famous in previous iterations of the series, Quake 4 boasts a variety of weaponry and set pieces that move the story forward, with one big twist smake in the middle.
