    I played an enormous amount of both games, they are both great in their own way.

    You mean the original UT, right? or 2004? Because if it's 2004, I'd say get Quake III.

    I'll vote for Unreal Tournament, Quake III was too bouncy for my taste.

    @supermonkey122: I've just come full circle and recommend only UT. Can't beat that ASMD Shock Rifle, son.

    I've spent more time playing the original UT then Quake 3 but both are pretty amazing. Flip a coin because you can't go wrong. Or buy both.

    Both are great games. I believe that Jeff's Mario Kart Law applies here: whichever game one played first is going to be his favorite. I personally never played a Quake game in my life. I have stuck by Unreal Tournament. You should get UT, and UT2K4 at that, as it's one of the best first-person shooters of all time, if not the.
