Now that the Quake Live Open Beta is released I thought I'd create a thread for people to share quake live usernames so we can add each other to our friends lists.

Also, to show you're from giant bomb, add the clan tag "[GB]" to your profile (you do this using the edit profile link in the top right of the screen). I plan on setting up a proper clan once full clan features are implemented, but currently the tag is all that is there.

You've got to download a small installer package and install it, then it'll download the rest of the games files in game. The queue is so long because so many people are trying to access it. It moves down fairly quickly though.

It's the beta so the servers must not be optimal yet.

Once the servers get updated (or get less populated) and you will be able to join you will only have to download a plugin for your browser. Then you will have a small download which contains the training level where your initial rank will be decided through some bot matches. The other levels actually download while you are playing that ranking match.

I'm the same as I am here:  therizzle.

I have to go out and do some grocery shopping right this second, so I figure if I queue up before I leave I should only have to wait a year or two after I get back in order to play.

Finally got into my first game in the Open Beta. Username is yates on there as well.

As for clans, its possible to attach a clan tag in your profile. Not sure if there's anything else in the way of clan features in there.

Still waiting. I've gone down about 20,000 in the last hour or so. Apparently they've made some changes to the queue system so it will move a little faster. I'll be adding the GB tag right away, so if you see [GB] therizzle, say hi.
