Rafe Adler

Overview

A partner-turned-rival of Nathan Drake's, Rafe Adler is the main antagonist in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, representing the impenitent thief. Dedicating over 15 years and millions of dollars towards finding Henry Avery's lost treasure, Adler is a capable treasure hunter with vast financial resources and connections, including a personal private army led by Nadine Ross.

Relationships

Nathan Drake

Originally, Nathan Drake and Rafe Adler worked together as partners until their escape from a prison in Panama where they had to leave an injured Sam Drake behind. As Nathan Drake became known as a fortune hunter, Rafe grew bitter of his partner's successes and the two gradually became distant overtime.

Sam Drake

Rafe Adler and Sam Drake worked together in Panama to find the cross of St. Dismas. After his escape from prison, Rafe believed that Sam had died during the breakout. Sometime later, Rafe would spend the majority of his time and resources into finding the location of Henry Avery's lost treasure. Desperate for answers, Rafe Adler finds out that Sam Drake survived all these years later and decides to bail him out of prison to use his expert knowledge to uncover the secrets of Henry Avery.

Nadine Ross

Rafe Adler employs Nadine Ross & her PMC Shoreline to uncover hidden tombs relating to Henry Avery. As Rafe finds the burning ship where Henry Avery left his treasure, Nathan Drake bursts in to rescue his brother. Nadine arrives to relieve Nate of his weapons, she then decides to take Rafe's gun and leaves the two men in the ship because she realizes that everyone involved with the treasure ends up dead.
