Rage
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Oct 04, 2011
id Software's Rage combines first-person shooting, vehicular action, and "open but directed" exploration to tell the story of Earth's wretched civilization after a cataclysmic meteor strike. Militaristic authority figures, freedom-fighting rebels, criminal raiders, and twisted mutants battle each other for control of the barren wasteland Earth has become.
Anybody else feeling some love for this game? (Rage)
Hey all
I have been watching the progression of Rage for a while (since I saw a trailer, I think at E3 last year perhaps, or maybe a later date). The graphics are blowing me away and the gameplay looks interesting. Also with the latest trailer I saw on Youtube I feel like the story is comming together quite nicely and I am getting a bit of a Fallout 3 vibe from the game (which is great as I loved that game).
So anybody else here feel like they are actually stoked to get their hands on this game?
Enjoy.
I feel like this game is getting overlooked badly. It's a shame because it looks really fun. Definitely my game to get October.
I've been watching snippets here and there and didn't consider it a must buy until I saw the latest TGS footage and saw how smooth it ran. I can't wait now !!
I've got it pre ordered, not steam this time though. Idk why, but I wanted disc with this one, Carmack and all, plus I like the box art. I think it will have both good mechanics and world , and it's just starting again to be okay for me to enjoy another dystopian post apocalyptic type setting. I still think of Mad Max the most though with this one.

It's Steamworks anyway. :]
Waiting to see what the response is on this one, ID games are usually a ton of fun to blast things with shotguns but I'm in no hurry.
I wish.. I've been looking forward to id's next big title for years, but the slow easy action i've seen in trailers puts me off >_>
I am actually really looking forward to RAGE, I love almost all ID games and I really can't wait to see that engine in use. I pre-orderd it the other day, along with Skyrim. TAKE ALL MY MONEYS BETHESDA!
It looks good but Dark Souls comes out on the same day, and I don't know which one to get.
It's not an easy decision man.
I'm super stoked for it. I almost never get games the day they come out but I've got this one preordered.
One hang up I had with Rage when I played the demo at Eurogamer was that only a couple of character models for the enemies were shown, and they suffered worse English yelling dialogue than the Orks in Space Marine. Plus, they had with the same bloody voice actor for every single enemy, to boot. Thankfully, the screaming's pretty good, and pinning the dudes to walls with the whirlstick is incredibly satisfying. Still, more diverse enemies would be great, ta!
The weapon fire felt like it had a good weight to it, not just in the visual knockback and sound, but the shots seemed to punch the bad guys hard, too. I enjoy a heavy hitting shotgun in an FPS, and this one was really fun to use. The combat feels good, which makes up for the lousy enemies I had to wade through. Might make a purchase, but I'd like to see how diverse the game gets with setting/characters and gameplay before I make a decision.

This game actually looks too good.
Also, does it have coop of any sorts?
It does have some co-op missions apparently, in a mode called Legends of the Wasteland.
You can read about in a Co-optimus E3 preview where Willits talks about it(towards the end of the article):

I hope to get around to it, and I'd probably get around to it quicker if the quarter wasn't packed with so many other incredible looking titles, but I'm still a little worried it'll end up being more of an awesome tech-demo than an awesome game.
I like id Software but my computer is too weak for Rage and I got a lot of other games to play so I will most likely buy it on PS3 or Xbox 360 later when the price drops.
