I was just watching the coverage on G4. The game looks beyond incredible.

Yeah everything I've seen so far has only made me more excited. It seems that ID is finally taking the time to craft game-play to go along with their amazing tech (yes, forget the original Doom, that was ages ago), rather than letting the tech take the lead, and that's really exciting giving the clearly evident level of talent at the studio.

It does look pretty good but it's hard to tell from this little SD screen playing in the middle of my netbook screen haha

Been excited about this game for over a year, seeing these videos only fuels it more! I love me some post apocalyptic action!

"I am consumed by Rage" would have been a much more writerly thread title, on account of the alliteration and such. I'm sending that shit to Nicholson. 
Rage looks good, iD is good about making engines where things look like they're doing a lot more than they are. I have zero faith that the driving will be excellent, but if its competent and I'm not getting caught on rocks and floating around I'll tolerate it.

Just saw that it won IGN's overall Best of E3 award.

Anyone know if the bomb squad saw Rage at all at E3?

each day of E3 my jaw continues to drop even lower.

if more dev adopts IdTech5 and can produce at least games similar to Rage's quality, we won't be seeing the next generation of consoles 'till Xmas 2013!

Nothing amazing really.

I TOLD YOU GUYS....I remember everybody going "FALLOUT CLONE LOOKS GHEY" and I'm like "Open your eyes FOOLS"

The megatexture thing is excellent. But that's the only real good thing I see about it, other than the 60hz internal speed. I guess I'll have to play it and see.
 
I LOVE me some open-world shooters. STALKER is my favorite series in a long time. However I don't think this game will deliver the experience I'm looking for.

I'm not flabbergasted by it or anything. It's certainly taking some of the best aspects of games like Fallout, Borderlands, etc. and mashing them together. And it does look nice graphically. There's nothing remotely revolutionary about it, though. It looks like a decent FPS. I haven't seen enough about the game structure to know if it will really be worth playing. iD has a tendency to not follow-through with their games, and so until I learn more, I'm firmly in the skeptical camp.

 
I found the stage demo of Rage on Gamespot.  Its better quality then the one on G4

It looks like Borderlands without the RPG elements running on a pretty graphics engine and a faster movement speed.

When I saw that one youtube video awhile back with John Carmack telling everyone about the amazing texture system, I knew this was gonna be awesome. After seeing some of that AI in action, I'm officially pumped.

id does good work and this is nothing short of amazing.

Well, considering I've been disappointed by id's last two games, and the fact that I can't see what's special about this game, I can't really say I'm excited about it.
So... meh.

It doesn't look like anything special to me.

Morrowind did the huge handcrafted thing a long time ago.

Thanks for the link.  The driving looks similiar to Borderlands.  I hope there is very little driving in the final game.  Apart from that, Rage looks awesome. "
