The achievement hoarding side of me wants to pick this up on the console. Which one are you guys getting it on?

PC...if I get it, it looks cool but I haven't enjoyed an id game since Quake 1, so I am a little hesitant.

PS3. Multiple disks FTL!

#4 Posted by Mikewrestler5 (602 posts) -

If I were going to play it, I'd go for the PS3 version. I'd only play it to hear John Goodman's voice work, though.

It's GFW so the PC version will have achievements. I'll have to buy the PC version on disc because I think it's too big for me to download from Steam with my cap.

PC, home of the id game.

#11 Posted by DonPixel (2585 posts) -

Dunno yet.. PS3 depending how good it runs, will read reviews.

#12 Posted by Muerthoz (344 posts) -

Since I play most of my games on PS3, I will continue that trend with this one and buy it on PS3.

Console?      AHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAAHAAHHAAAHAAHH

#14 Posted by ryanwho (12082 posts) -

Yeah PC. Im curious whether the crazy people who normally make a bunch of mods for Bethesda games will have a prescience on Rage. Cus I know a big part of why that mod scene is so big is Bethesda used the Gamebryo engine for like a fucking decade. But plenty of big games with useful mod tools never have anything of value made (Starcraft 2) so we'll just have to wait and see.

GFW =/= GFWL. No Live achievements on the PC.

It's a Steamworks game, so it'll probably have Steam achievements instead.

Lol the mere idea of playing an Id game on a console is borderline sacrilege to me. I pre-purchased my steam copy over a month ago.

Fairly certain the pc version will have steam achievements and cloud saves and whatnot but I have absolutely nothing to back it up with, eh I'm fine either way.

So that branding literally just means this is a windows pc game?

Pretty much, but it also means that it passed Microsoft's certifications, requirements and such. Most GFW games, for example, are guaranteed to have proper out of the box 360 controller support.

So it's not a completely useless branding.

Also, if (and that's a big if) I'm buying this, it'll be on PC. I could care less about achievements or trophies.

On the puk. I don't think it looks very good, but it was cheap so I had to.

#29 Posted by MachoFantastico (4307 posts) -

Probably PC, but going to wait to see what folks say about it. If not will probably get Dark Souls instead. Rage as hardly registered with me for years now, looks solid but this game as sort of lived in limbo for me.

#30 Posted by JEC03 (892 posts) -

I'm playing it like this.

#31 Posted by JerichoBlyth (1044 posts) -

Buying it? There's enough games coming out - I'll wait until it has tanked in sales despite being good and get it for £20.

#32 Posted by BBQBram (2165 posts) -

360. Don't have a proper gaming PC.

#35 Posted by captain_clayman (3301 posts) -

well i'm probably not gonna get it but my friend is getting on xbox.  after he beats it i might borrow it off him to see how it is and if i really like it i'll get it on pc when it's dirt cheap.

When I do get it, it will be for the PC.

I'm still unconvinced about this game but if I were to pick it up The ps3 would be the one. I'll take a single disc over multiple any day.

PC. Any place else is a joke.

#48 Posted by cstrang (2381 posts) -

X360. It's simply my preferred platform.
