Ok Tomorrow is the Steam release of Agarest: Generations of War. I know people will probably hate it a lot but for the people who actually want more JRPGs on the PC you definitely should pick this up. It is not masterpiece but rather a decent one but it is only 15€ 15$ so it is pretty cheap and shows that you will support these kind of games which is getting more and more important.

Also it is hopefully just the beginning since we are also getting maybe the best JRPG in recent years with Trails in the Sky this year as well. For people who never heard about it here is the trailer:

So yeah support JRPGs on the PC because I personally think PC is the best option for these kind of games to be released here.

Not gonna support a terrible game just to get more JRPG's on steam.

On the PS3, the legacy mechanic was intriguing, but it wasn't a good JRPG. I doubt much has changed between the port.

$15 is about $16 more than what people should pay for this. It is an absolute disaster of a game.

T.I.T.S. is coming to Steam. That's the game everybody should buy. (It's an incredible game, and more sales equals a better chance the third one gets localized.)

@siroptimusprime: Maybe not. I remember playing a hentai game like this before called Kamidori Alchemy Meister which I quite enjoyed. Not because of the dating and sex scenes which were not much in there anyway but rather because of the turn based combat. This also was no masterpiece but it lasted 50 hours for me so I think it was quite enjoyable on hard.

Personally I never played this series but I like turn based combat so we will see^^

Already have it on my Ps3. Haven't played it yet though.

It's not garbage, it's just long-winded and tedious by a certain point. I think you'll find some enjoyment in it if you know when it's time to get out and move onto something else.

Kamidori was a far better game than this piece of shit, having combined Shining Force's combat, an extensive character upgrade system, and some Recettear-esque shop keeping mechanic.

If you want to show that jrpg's can sell on the PC platform you should support good games that are already here such as The Last Remnant or Ys series from XSEED. There is also already a big sea change that is about to happen with next generation gaming. If you look at Sqaure Enix, Konami, Capcom and even Sony, you will know that they they are all creating new engines built with cross platform development in mind. The Luminous Engine which FF 15 runs on takes advantage of PC hardware unlike the Crystal Engine which was more tailored to consoles. Konami have already shown future interest with porting Castlevania: Lords of shadow and Metal Gear Rising to PC. Hideo Kojima also hinted at wanting to port MGS V if the demand was high enough at E3. Capcom's next gen engine "Panta Rhei" which is being used to build Deep Down was also running on a 570 GTX/i7/8 GB PC during it's first reveal in February. Everything is being built with cross platform in mind. As for Sony, they have always supported OpenGL, Direct X and their own low level API with their in-house Phyre Engine. As another take away point I will leave you with this:

I'm double-dippin' on the hate here, but I can't stress just how bad this game is. The game peaks at Jumbo Cock and bursts into flames right after.

I did a lot of stupid shit back in High School and purchasing this game happens to be one of those things.

I know I played it. But you said Agarest is a piece of shit compared to Kamidori so while I thought kamidori was decent and enjoyable I can not imagine a piece of shit compared to that^^

I would probably consider picking that up on Steam. My dream is that disgaea comes to PC, though I'm sure it won't. I would play the shit out of those games, but i dont have a PS3. Anyway, that's the type of game i'd really like to see on the PC eventually. Oh well, one can dream.

This game is not very good. But there aren't many games that I've invested this much time in that I've given up on, so in that sense I almost want to get it just so that I can say it didn't beat me. Plus if it's on PC I could cheat. But no, I almost definitely won't get this.

Aren't the Agarest games supposed to be infamously shitty and terrible? Listen, I'm all for more games coming to PC, but the way to support that does not involve purchasing Z-tier SRPGs whose only claim to fame is that the special edition came with a boob mousepad and pillow case.

Agarest is ok but definitely not for everyone, and the first one is by far the weakest the most recent one (2) is an infinitely better game and you can get it on amazon for like $20 at this point.

So played like 2 hours so far on hard and until now it is not bad. You get introduced to quite a few mechanics, you have Blacksmithing where you can strengthen your weapons, Alchemy to create new items, Titles which is kind of a leaderboard system? a "reputation bar" and so on. Question is how this all is relevant later in the game but we will see. I also died 2 times already so far so good^^

The only thing I did not like however was the DLC preorder packs you have gotten. Tons of items which makes you feel totally overpowered in the beginning so I started new without these items.

Yup. If ever a game can't live up to its name, it's the one called T.i.T.S... that doesn't come with a mouse pad with boobs on it. Synergy people, come on!

All I know about Agarest is that a friend of mine bought the collectors edition for 360 a while back and it came with a mouse pad depicting the upper torso of what I assume was one of the female characters in the game - and her breasts were the cushions on which you rest your wrist.

It also came with a bedsheet or something among other items. So I was never quite sure if this is some sort of porn game that got past the ESRB or what.. the graphics look like something from the Playstation 1 era.

I am now like 20 hours in and so far it is decent. However I have two gripes with this game

1. The game does not seem to be balanced at all. I am playing on hard and while the beginning offered a decent challenge at some point so far it becomes a joke. Also there is tons of stuff to craft, skills to learn and other stuff to craft but it seems as it does not matter at all in the end. I always use the samew stuff over and over again because it is a true pain to craft all these new skills and items to be honest. At first I also had a lot of trouble getting and keeping money but after I found out that you can pay an item at the adventurer guild for 25TP and sell it to the shop for 50k I had no trouble at all anymore.^^

2. I dont get the "reputation" bar. It makes sense that the reputation also matter in terms of choosing your wife but it so random. There is no indication if someone is evil or not it just wasw decided I guess? Also the questions and also the answers and their effects of these women are so random. If you want a certain wife you better save before every event field.

But I guess the fact that I have played already 20+ hours of this game indicates that I am still somewhat enjoy this game It was defiantly worth the 15 Euro I paid for it^^
