    Red Dead Redemption

Game » consists of 23 releases. Released May 18, 2010

Red Dead Redemption is the spiritual successor to 2004's Red Dead Revolver, featuring a vibrant, open world set in the decline of the American Wild West. Players take on the role of former outlaw John Marston, who is forced to hunt down his former gang to regain his family.

Pardon me Sega, this is how you sell a game.

Since Sega seems to having a littlebitof trouble marketing Obsidian's spy RPG Alpha Protocol, perhaps they should take a page out of Rockstar's book. I'm sure Sega have enough money to do something like this.

I think you care more about this game than everyone at Sega combined. Everything about their advertising (or more accurately, their lack thereof) has made me want to lower my expectations for AP.

Cool stunt for Red Dead Redemption, though.

i think sega is to broke to do that after making all those shitty sonic games for so long and no one buying them i think they cant afford that or i am over estimating how much it costs and how many people have been buying sonic games.

Has anyone (who's made a western-themed game) posted a bunch of old-timey "WANTED" posters throughout a city to promote their game?  Because if not, then what the hell are they waiting for?!

Odd you should mention that, considering Rockstar made a bunch of WANTED posters to advertise GTAIV.

I'm pretty sure a bunch of WANTED posters all over a city isn't the smartest idea for a game publishing company.  Probably gonna cause too much trouble given how awesome the above ad is.

I like the graffiti under it.  Gives it a nice finishing touch.  So, is that painted on the building or what?  It looks painted.  Also:  This game looks completely awesome.

It's most likely a paper/plastic sheet with the ad printed on it.  They just "glue" it to the wall of the building.  FFXIII had something similar in Los Angeles.

HAH! They're just finishing putting those on over the GTA ads that were there previously, as you can see at the bottom of the middle one.

If you really want Sega to learn a lesson in marketing, they should get in touch with the adult swim people who caused a bomb scare in Boston with their Aqua Teen Hunger Force adds. Epic stuff.

It's cool...but I could see it quickly becoming an eyesore for the residents there.  Also, is it really a wise idea to show a tough guy wielding a gun like that as a big piece of advertising...in NYC?

Actually, this kind of makes me realize why I hate the advertising industry so much.

    Still, though...great artwork nonetheless.

I don't watch that much TV but the one developer I constantly see ads for is Rockstar. Either they have marketing budgets out the ass or they are very smart in targeting the demographic.

Those FF ads are really lame and totally disgracing my beautiful hometown there, but the Red Dead Revolver ads are absolutely beautiful. If I wasn't sold already, I'd be sold right now after seeing that.
