seems we have to wait until next week for the GB RDR review (Ryan only mentions a quicklook of it this week)

okay I will admit, thought the IGN UK review was over the top. But it seems the general agreement is that it's a damn fine game. Can't wait till Thursday/Friday.

Remember when average scores like this used to be rare?   Like once every few years?  They happen so regularly nowadays that we're soon going to need to start marking out of 12 or something.

I can only pick out the following negative sentiments about the game as a whole: 

Occasionally buggy terrain 
Marston's awkward running animation 
A less-than-perfect cover mechanic 
A struggle to control aiming/steering/shooting simultaneously during high-speed shoot-outs 
A lengthy 50 hours playtime that has peaks and valleys of quality

Wow. Okay, thats really impressive. I think I will have to get this before Alan Wake then.

Just so you know, Rockstar has hand picked publications that wrote positive previews of the game and only sent out review copies to those.

Sure Rockstar is only letting the excellent reviews loose but we all know this is going to be a badass game regardless. I expect the GB crew to give a 4/5.

Whoa, the game must be excellent. Can't wait to play it.

Really looking forward to this. Heck, I would even if it got bad scores. Everything I have read about it in previews, reviews and even in threads by people who have played it and don't like it have made me want this game even more. I am pretty sure this will be my GOTY this year. Too bad I have to wait till Friday to play it. 
 
Oh, and buzz_killington is just hurt because no-one joined him in boycotting it.

Awesome. I'm starting to get really really excited and am definitely glad I preordered it.

Greatest thing about New Zealand is there isn't a large amount of gamers, so pre-ordering is almost useless. I just need to walk 10mins and pick it off the stand! Can't wait for Friday!

It's like three paragraphs explaining game modes. Theres more to go off in the previews...

The NZGamers site gave the PS3 version a 10. 
I don't know why they limit themselves to one version. 
Looks like the only sub-9 score is from Eurogamer. 
I wonder what the nerds from Reviews On The Run will score it.

I surmise that this game has been overblown with hyperbole.  I'd love for it to be this amazing, but I don't suspect it will be so stupendous.  I'll wait for the Giant Bomb review before I make a purchase.

Ludicrous scores? I'm in, universal praise rarely fails, as we could see in Arkham Asylum's, Uncharted 2's and God of War III's cases.

The only thing this game would need to make me want it more at this point is a Carl McCoy cameo appearance.

Just one more day to go. Going to be a crappy day at school tomorrow waiting to get home and play.
