Red Faction: Guerrilla is really fun, but it lacks a bit.

The story of this game is simple. The bad dudes, the EDF if you will, killed your brother, and you seek revenge by destroying all of the EDF shit. That's about it. As you can see, there is really little story in Red Faction: Guerrilla. That is one of the games few weak spots.
Another one is that this game is very hard. You are pretty much a one man army here, and as you progress, the missions get harder and harder. I found myself switching the game's difficulty to easy just so I could complete the game. Sure a challenge is great, but it got to the point where I just couldn't handle it anymore.
All negatives aside, this game is really fun. The gameplay is pretty much you ruining the EDF's (Earth Defense Force) day. It consists of you blowing up a ton of buildings, and killing a bunch of dudes with a hammer. A big part of this game is that any man made structure is destructible. The destruction is very satisfying, as you will expect.
There are about 20 main missions in the game, and there are more than 100 side missions to choose from. The is plenty of replay value in the game, but as I said, the missions get very hard. If you enjoy a challenge, or getting pissed off, go ahead, try them!
So, you're saying you want to destroy shit with other people, eh? Well, ok! There is a multiplayer mode in Red Faction: Guerrilla. There is your basic modes - Deathmatch, Team Death Match, Capture The Flag, Control Points, etc. There are also some unique modes, such as Destruction, where you destroy and your team destroy or defend builds for points. The multiplayer is really fun, and I had some memorable moments playing it.
If you want a game with a story, or a really easy game, look else where. If those two negatives don't push you away, you may want to try it out.

Red Faction: Guerrilla Makes Open-Worlding Fun Again
(
X360
)
Although Red Faction: Guerrilla will always be known first and foremost as a game about blowing stuff up, it should also be hailed for breaking the bonds of the open world genre. Don't get me wrong, the results of rocket-launching, bomb-laying and nano-reducing 99.9% of the objects on the terrain ...

Red Faction: Guerrilla Review - Hey kid, you like explosions?
(

Personally, Red Faction: Guerrilla really flew in under my radar. I had never played the first two games for the PC and I really had no idea what to expect, but after playing the very short single player demo I picked up the game without reading a single review. And ...

The Almighty Sledge!
(

Red Faction Review 1.0 Although the plot is a little basic at some points, the near hitchless piece-by-piece destruction, the grand scale, and quality graphics, sound, voice acting and cut scenes give the game a really pleasant feel. This game beats its contemporaries in destruction in pretty much every regard. ...
