Better than I thought really fun to play but sometimes annoying

Game play: I have heard that this game is not worth it its a waste of money and I heard that a long time ago before i bought my wii console. But recently I bought it and i tought that redsteel would be a complete disaster but it didnt seem that bad. You are Scott-San from a clan and you're fiancés dad gets killed by a guy name Tokai he wanted the katana-giri a sword that have been passed on generation through generation and that blade got Tokai's attention to get it at all meanings. The story of the game is the best there are cutscenes before and after every mission its really easy to understand the story and as you move on you want to play more to discover the truth. You challenge a bunch of enemies probably 30 with your blade you use yourtechnique to attack them at the end you can rather kill him or save him you get respect points for saving you rival. This game has allot of missions and allot of cool enviroments as you go from tokyo to los angeles. You also use allot of the wii remote functions to operate items weapons and objects around you wich is great. This game is about 8 hours long there are two great endings that you can choose from. Some places in the game are hard to beat so dont think that you will never die you will at some point allot of times and it will get you frustrated. There are also a good variety of weapons to use.

Graphics:The graphics are not bad but in some areas its a bit disapointing but again the wii cant support extreme graphics but its still satisfying all the enemies look real and the emotions in there faces are well pronounced. The weapons look great as well they are well detailed and they are not defective. The only things i dont like is the sensitivity you change it to high and you cannot control anything medium is still to quick and slow is kinda too slow so the camera angles can be a mess once in a while.

Sound :There are allot of different kind of music there are about 40 songs and some are changed a bit but you dont notice it but what i dont like is everyime you encounter an enemy you will always hear the same music or sound effects i would of liked it to have more variation after a while. Every voice of the characters sound realistic and the sound of the weapons are all personalised so if you hear an uzi you know that your enemies is using an uzi.

Controls : The controls are not bad but there are too many moves to do you cant just smash your enemies with the blade non stop you have to get used to the timing and knowing when to attack and not wasting health. The controls take a while until you adapt to them and trust me it will take a few hours unless you practice in the training room regularly.

    Positive +

    +Great AI

    +Exellent Story

    +Great missions

    +Cool weapons

    +Great voice acting

    +Cool environments

    Negative-

    -Unstable controls

    -Repetitive music

    -Hard bosse's

    -laggy camera sensitivity

I reccomend this game i cant wait for the second game to come out i will buy it when its realeased. This game is a must buy for wii owners but renting it is not a bad idea.

At best Red Steel is a rental, if only for curiosity's sake. 0

The protagonist's hand tilts just as you tilt your hand in real space, holding your pistol with dat gangsta grip. Where you wave, your gun aims. You pull the B-button "trigger" on the Wii remote and gunfire erupts on-screen. It all seems so intuitive and natural. But then you try turn to defend yourself against someone coming from your left, and it happens so slowly that it's as if you're in a restrictive neck brace. You try to combat an enemy with your katana blade with graceful, weaving strike...

      Good Idea Gone Bad 0

Red Steel was the quintessential tech demo for the Wii. We thought it impossible for Ubisoft to disappoint with such an interesting idea that made full use of the Wii's intuitive controllers. Many, many months later, most people have moved on, but this title still leaves a sour taste in Wii launch victims' collective mouth. In Red Steel, you are Scott, boyfriend of the daughter of a Yakuza ringleader. The story begins with Scott and his girlfriend on the eve of the announcement of their engage...
