In 1987, Holger Gehrmann and Uwe Grabosch founded game development studio reLINE Software in Germany. ReLINE software did not publisher their own games at first and struck publishing deals with Magic Bytes, Robtek, Rainbow Arts and others. In collaboration with Magic Bytes, reLINE software become increasingly independent and started co-publishing their own games. ReLINE's most succesful games were oil baron simulation Black Gold as well as classic RPG Legends of Faerghail. Other releases include Crystal Hammer and Centerbase. ReLINE Software stirred some controversy with their Biing Game series due to the sexual innuendo of the graphics, but despite the publicity the games never surpassed a status of obscurity and cult game. By 2004. reLINE software ceased to exist.
