In May 2008, due to the ever decreasing available space in the Xbox Live Marketplace (today Xbox Games Store) servers, Microsoft announced that games that have been available for 6 months with a Metacritic score of below 65% and a conversion rate of less than 6% would be eligible to be de-listed from the service. Those games would never be available for purchase again but players would still be able to download it if they already bought it.
Many old XBLA games have also been deleted for business reasons, not least of which was the closure of the publisher. As such, following the end of Midway Games, nine of their classic arcade games were removed from the service.
