Renegade Ops

As the generically named "Renegade Ops" rogue military group, you must save the world from the stereotypical terrorist organization Inferno in this arcade top-down vehicular shooter from the studio that brought you Just Cause 2, and whose gameplay more than makes up for its storyline.

Concepts

Level Up Health Refill

Ding! Along with gaining a new level, we went ahead and refilled your health bar...and maybe your mana and/or stamina too!
Leveling Up

The process by which characters reach a new level, gain greater attributes, and learn more abilities. It usually involves earning enough experience points by completing a variety of tasks such as quests or by "farming" such as killing other characters for their experience points.
Lives

The concept of lives in video games evolved to let the player get a second chance after failing once. The most recognizable symbol is the heart.

A variation on the comic cutscene, motion comic is used as a more streamlined narrative medium reaching an effective balance between static comic panels and full blown CG.

Games which allow players to interact with others over the internet.
Optional Objective

Objectives that aren't required in order to win a scenario or mission. Completing optional objectives may, however , grant the player benefits such as items, shortcuts or additional assistance.

Perks

Profanity

Swearing, cursing, call it what you want. It is an expression of anger or frustration, in most cases.

A promotional program for downloadable games on PlayStation Network that began in 2011.
Respawn

Respawning is when a player or NPC dies and then reappears moments later - usually in a predetermined location or group of locations - while the game continues.

Built in feature of some of the Steam games. Saves players high scores online and allows them to be compared to other players scores.
Tank Controls

Tank controls refers to a control style for third person perspective games where manual turning is required instead of the more common method of facing in the direction that the analog stick is tilted and moving forward.
Temporary Invincibility

Whether by item or otherwise, temporary invincibility provides the user a brief moment where they are impervious to attack.
Top-Down Perspective

The top-down perspective is a camera angle used in video games to show the player and the area around him or her from above. The perspective is commonly seen in 2D RPG games and strategy games.
Twin Stick Control

A method of controlling a vehicle or character via a pair of identical sticks. The control resembles that of a tank.
Upgradeable Weapons

Weapons can often be upgraded with new attachments, augmentations, or magical enchantments. These upgrades result in the original item being more powerful than originally intended.
Vehicular Combat

Vehicular combat combines driving and combat to form a unique fast paced action game. Many games are purely vehicular combat based (e.g. Twisted Metal or Vigilante 8) or can contain have sections for such combat (e.g. Halo or Mass Effect).
