I have been wondering this since last wednesday. SEGA never said that the Steam version would be delayed.
A release date would be lovely.

Well, Sega didn't do a very good job informing people of this. First time I heard of that. :/
Your not the only one, i was about to pull the trigger on the PS3 version last night. But ended up not doing it. I really want it on PC.

I was about to do the samething, but PSN was down. Don't do this to me SEGA.
I know, I was talking about it to a guy on my dorm floor I gave one of my extra copies to and we were both raging when I saw it switched to october.
I asked SEGA on Twitter about the release date, they said this as response:
TimmiT09 date not yet set, info soon, I promise :)
i sense this may be turning into builder/plumber time. october reads: "before christmas.... perhaps"
i've payed my darn money already so i'll just have to ride it out
play some dead island instead
@Evo If it's mouse and keyboard It probably would be good wouldn't be that bad, But I might just hook in my xbox controller. There is 2 perks though. A)4 pack I already bought and distributed(not on consoles), And B)I don't have to pay XBLExtortion.
I've had it pre-ordered since the day they put it up on Steam (almost two months ago) and now, over a week after the console-release and a day after it should've come out already we still don't even have a release date. Not exactly the best information policy I've ever encountered. Get your shit together Sega!
Gordon Freeman will be in the Steam version of Renegade Ops! OMGAH

I wouldn't mind it as much if they would just say something about it, a simple tweet or somesuch; but the only information we get is yet another delay on the Steam page - one hour before fucking release. I'm sorry, but this is just getting retarded.
I could muster up the tiniest bit of sympathy or understanding for SEGA or Avalanche if any of them posted something about WHY it's delayed. Nothing, not even a tweet. Even @sega was like "we weren't told of any delay!" When it was supposed to come out on the 14th.
Then it was delayed 5 days to the 19th. Then about 30 minutes before it was due to come out? Delayed another 4 days. Then about 10 minutes later the release date was changed to 'October 2011'.
Really sega? REALLY? I bet there will be absolutely nothing said about the delay, total media blackout. At least most other devs/publishers have the common fucking decency to tell the consumers why a product is delayed.
Get crushed and die SEGA under the weight of your sheer incompetence you useless no brained cunts.
This is getting rather insulting. I don't think anyone would've minded had they given a solid release from the start, or even a reasonable estimate; this constant bait and switch of delaying the game minutes before release, multiple times is absurd. SEGA properly fucked up here. You have to wonder what state the PC version is in, if this port isn't near-perfect then people will be pissed.
What features though? I'd be happy with what they released on the consoles seen as how awesome the game looks and Brads glowing review. Yeah they put the HL buggy in it but whatever. That doesn't really change the core gameplay that much. I just want to know what the fuck they're even doing over there for the game to not even have a release date anymore.
I was talking with someone and I said it would be released after episode 3.
@GamesAreArt: Gordon Freeman delays games. Fact.
Edit: We have our reason...

The PC Digital release of Renegade Ops has been delayed for further optimization of the game. New release info soon, feedback welcome.
"Optimization"
From all the quick looks and trailers it looks like the game ran pretty smooth on the 360 (outside of splitscreen)
Is it *really* that difficult to port a game from the 360 to the PC now? Game developers have had plenty fucking practice porting 360 games over to PC. They're both microsoft based platforms for christ sake.
The thing that makes me laugh the most is that the Just Cause 2 engine is considered one of the best running PC engines around. Why exactly do they need to 'optimize' something that already runs fantastically well on a wide range of hardware?
This is an unsettling trend. Devs finish the game for consoles in time to go gold for disc pressing, then start focusing and inevitably delaying the PC version. It's a completely unacceptable practice.
Why have these delays gotten no press? The only people aware of it already pre-ordered the game :(

That's what I was thinking. At least I got it for only £6.45 from GreenManGaming due to a combination of their 15% preorder saving and the £2 credit I had in my account from purchasing Arkham City. Cancelled my Steam preorder of this game before switching. Was hoping to be playing this already by now...

This.
We're now being considered second class citizens. Is my $14.99 any different from a console player? I guess so.
I understand that shit happens games get delayed but this is fucking ridiculous. It doesn't help that the 4 player aspect is so prevalent. Since it offers the 4 pack my friends all chipped in and keep making plans out of our busy lives to get together and play this game but they keep delaying it. It's starting to get close to refund territory.
This is going to be awesome if it actually gets released tomorrow.

Dear Renegade Ops Fans,
We are terribly sorry for the lack of updates regarding the delay of the game. However, the delay has been out of our hands and the communication with the players are supposed to go through the publisher, due to agreements around announcements etc.
With that said, we are again very sorry for the delay and we expect SEGA to announce more news about the PC version shortly.Thank you for your support and your patience.
Avalanche Studios
"...announce more news..." is not a good sign on the day of release. I would've called people who were cancelling pre-orders hyperbolic a few weeks ago, now I'm not so sure. I get the impression that Avalanche are not doing the PC port; they are moving into new offices and don't seem to know when this is coming out, when it should be out today. Sega are handling this woefully.
That said, it's still scheduled for release today. I don't fucking know at this point.
Wow. I thought it came out the 14th and I was just waiting for a sale. I didn't realize that this was going on. Jeez.
It's so awesome!!!! Beat two missions already(played the first twice, second once.)
Still messed up for me. I was wondering why it was delayed so much for PC, this is why I guess. Seems to be an issue with dual-core PCs even after the patch, so buyers beware. I am really disappointed.
