    Requiem is a mysterious planet toward which the rear section of the UNSC Frigate Forward Unto Dawn, containing the Master Chief and Cortana, is seen drifting into the Legendary ending of Halo 3.

    Requiem was originally seen in the Legendary epilogue to Halo 3, and led to much speculation from fans. Then, on E3 2011, Halo 4 was announced, and the game would follow up on the Legendary ending to Halo 3 and the game would take place on Requiem.

    The name of the planet, Requiem, was confirmed in a 2012 Game Informer magazine. It was also confirmed in the Making Of Halo 4: First Look video that the planet is in fact a Dyson Sphere.
