As if porting this thing to just about everything isn't hilarious enough, but they're now doing another PC version. Though I'm to believe the original PC port wasn't one of Capcom's finest. Still, this thing is on practically everything at this point, and just about everyone who's ever wanted to play this surely has. Though I guess having it easily accessible on one's steam library is perhaps incentive enough to entice a few folks. Also hot preorder bonuses.

I would imagine this is partly motivated as a means for Capcom to try and wipe away the stink surrounding Resident Evil, with their attempt to perhaps remind us all of the 'good old days' and all that. Frankly I'm also a little surprised that they didn't announce a PS4/X1 port along side it. Though there's still time...

Oh, don't worry, I'm sure this version will make its way to the PS4 and Xbox One soon too. And then some versions will get onto the Vita and 3DS, and hell, even the Ouya while we're at it! Okay, not even Capcom is that crazy, never mind.

Resident Evil 4 wasn't on Steam before, right? And this is just a modern PC port of RE4 for $20? Sounds good to me, as I'm the last person on the planet who hasn't actually played it.

@naru_joe93: I had to check for myself to make sure... Revelations not being on vita is rather odd, given that that too can be found on just about every other relevant console, even the Wii U!

Guys, Capcom is doing right by one of their most beloved franchises! LETS STRAIGHT-UP FUCKING MURDERTHEM.

Really, I own the GC and Wii versions of this game, but I've since packed away both of those consoles to make room for new ones. Having this game on-hand at all times, properly ported and running smoothly is an amazing thing and I'm willing to drop another $20 on this game, given that all of those things hold true. As always, I'll wait for the reviews and see if there are any hang-ups, but this is nothing but a good thing.

@jjbsterling: There is no problem here, and I'm a little surprised that people seem to have interpreted my OP as me being pissed off or something. I'm merely commenting on how crazy it is that RE4 has had so many ports, that now it's being released on PC for the second time. I mean Hell, RE4 even somehow managed to make it over onto the iphone of all things.

I'm very happy about this. Hopefully it's good this time. I have it for Gamecube, but I'd rather play it on my PC.

In widescreen at 60 fps, with the Ada mission many Gamecube owners never played, mouse and keyboard support and our choice of controller. I don't like setting up my consoles to play at 480i (Gamecube component cables are expensive.) and the Gamecube controller isn't very durable. The rubber came off my stick. The more I can do on one platform, the better.

Man, I always feel like a jerk when I admit this but I don't like RE4 much at all. But I guess fans of it can be happy?

It's nice to have but its just Capcom being Capcom, they didn't do this for you, fans of RE4, they did this for themselves. It's like the equivalent of Square releasing anything old Final Fantasy related and calling it 'new'. Interesting. I might check this out, if only because I like Dead Space. I avoided the original because I heard that the PC version was literally filled with decomposing feces.

Also, does this game have any fixed camera sections? because fixed camera angles are up there with escort missions, quick-time events and underwater levels...

Well if it means there will finally be a good PC version of this game then I'm cool with it. That original port was garbage.

So I bought it on PSN 2.5 years ago, played it to Del Lago, and never went back. Since I don't have much to play lately, I started playing it again from the start. Just got past Del Lago...again.

The surprise bum-rush of zombies coming from behind me is getting old. I don't remember that when I played it 9 years ago on GC. It's worse than Doom 3.

Well this is cool. I've been wanting to go back to it again for a little bit. And playing the old PC version with a keyboard was... Interesting. I actually somehow got good at aiming the floaty fucking guns with WASD. Surprisingly playable.

This is a little pathetic honestly its akin to a sports star basically going "Hey, guys remember when I mattered and everyone thought I was the coolest thing ever! Lets relive my glory days!" And even though there were jokes I seriously do expect a RE4 Next Gen version. Especially if they are doing this PC version. porting that over to Ps4 would be minimal amount of work.

The more I think about it, RE4 might be my favorite game of all time. This will be the SEVENTH time I've bought this game.

Not really. It's serviceable but a good port with real time cutscenes and native controller support would be most welcome as far as I'm concerned. Good games deserve to be played in the best conditions possible. I really don't think it's that crazy.

People will probably find a way to make the half-naked-anime-lady mods work on the new version. If not, they can still play the old one.

Yep. That was the worst part about the 360 port, I was surprised there wasn't even an option. Just give me the RE5 controls and I'm a happy camper.
