-----my specs are: Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit, AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor 2.10Ghz, 3.00 GB RAM, with ATI Radeon HD 3400 series graphics cards (2 of them with crossfire) have 1.4GB VRAM.----
=======Resident Evil 5 runs laggy on my computer, it plays perfectly on minimum settings, i checked the recommended system requirements for it and they all pretty much fit with my system. The game gets very laggy though when i put it in the highest specs I DONT KNOW WHY. =======

Your videocard is low end, even in crossfire. That's probably your best bet for better performance, get a new videocard. Nothing else is gonna give you the performance you want.

Well you gotta learn video RAM is far from the most important part of your videocard. It's all about the shader processors the card has, how complex they are, how fast they can operate. More video RAM will just allow more texture resolution and extremely high resolutions (for the most part). The part of the Radeon HD 3400s that do the math for all the graphics in a game are weaker than you need to run the game well.
Yea, sorry man. It's a pixel shader 4.0 capable card, but it's just not capable of fast performance in a game like RE5. The only way you can really get a good assessment of the performance of a videocard is to look at benchmarks. See how the cards stack up to one another. Also to become familiar with how ATI & Nvidia name their video cards.

Can't really explain it, but RE5 is a better looking game than Dead Space, IMO. Have you tried anything else, like Crysis? RE5 should run more than twice as good as Crysis...
You can look up benchmarks for the Radeon HD 3400 series if you want yourself if you don't believe me. Few benchmarks were ever taken because it wasn't really meant to be a gamer's videocard.
For dead space I run it at 80 frames per second average, high of 100, that game automatically runs faster than average. For resident evil 5 I run it like 50-80 frames per second on my 9800GTX since I am playing resident evil 5 on pc yet won't directly mention how.
Let me start by saying your videocard is a piece of shit, even two of them. One Hd4850 should be faster than that junk. Now getting that out of the way, vram isn't going to help you if your videocard is weak and slow. You can have the slowest videocard in the world with tons of vram, a faster card with 512mb v ram will still run faster. Second of all is your cpu speed, sure having more cores is good, however the speed is important. 2.10Ghz is sort of slow and you would need to at least overclock it. If there is less speed, it will bottleneck your framerates. Honestly though you system is having trouble because it's not powerful enough or fast enough for the cpu.
Honestly though, pc gaming is superior, this game looks fantastic at my lcd monitor.
@0of: Just because your computer has the recommended settings, doesnt mean you can crank that shit up all the way. Is this your first time using a computer or playing a game on it? I would say that the processor and Ram are whats holding you back. No way to get around it unless you tone down certain things like shadows and the textures. This game doesnt even look that much better than the console versions. except for the resolution bump.

But on topic this guy seems pretty clueless about how CPU systems actually. Recommended settings don't usually mean the ones that will allow you to crank the graphics and what not to the max especially for a game that just got released with a vid card that's pretty far behind the current generation.
You're graphics cards are simply out of date, i'm afraid. Buy a 4870 1GB or a 4890, or even Crossfire a couple of 4850s. Or even wait until newer cards hit.
Your graphics card isn't good enough, plain and simple. my 4830 ran the game maxed out in 1920x1080 resolution with 4xaa and it NEVER dropped below 30.
SystemRequirementsLab generally takes very basic information about your computer and does not give you a true accurate read as to how well it would run. As for getting it to run the way you want: pick up a new graphics card. The ones already recommended would be the best bang for the buck and would let you play 99% of the games on the market at higher/highest settings. If you don't want to spend that much go pick up a nVidia 9600GT or an ATI 4670, either would up the performance by quite a bit, but might not be able to play it on the higher settings.
