Alright guys, thanks for the replies. I decided to let it cool. Apparently it isn't a 3rrod. It is an E79 error. WTF? Also I got the xbox from Christmas 07.

Uh...yeah....either way...I fixed my problem and everything is good now...

Yeah, usually the xbox will do something stupid before the red ring pops up proper.

Sigh...I really don't know what I should do...I am not much of a gears fan so I don't care much about the games...people say when you send it in...they send out crap models...I might just switch over to ps3...I really don't know.

I hope you are able to get your xbox 360 fixed soon.  I have a PS3 and it broke as well.  The firmware update messed it up and it stopped reading discs.  They don't build consoles like they used to.  I own a NES, Genesis, N64 and Dreamcast and they have never broke.

Lol yeah...my SNES, working fine...I also just submitted the repair thing...they are giving me the box and stuff soon hopefully.

I know how you feel mate, my second XBox just r.r.o.d'd on me a few days ago. I phoned Microsoft and they told me I have to pay 78 quid to get it repaired as my warranty has expired. I've had consoles since the SNES and never suffered anything like this before. Microsoft suck.

Had RROD, got my xbox back in 4 days.

Thats fast...I am waiting for the box to come...lol...

Hulk sent Xbox in for repair due to some disk reading issues, nothing too major just annoying.  360 comes back on Monday.  Hulk begins to play RE5 and it freezes repeatedly.  Hulk then reads that installing helps.  So Hulk spends 20 minutes installing.  Hulk then goes back to playing, actually gets to walk around a bit in the game this time and then it freezes again. Hulk resets for the 4th time and gets the RROD. 
HULK CALLS TECH SUPPORT AND RAGES.

They overnighted another box, and all the shipping from here on out is next day air.  It made it to the repair center by Wednesday morning and is currently in the "being repaired" phase.  Hulk is hoping it will be shipped out today and will get here tomorrow.  Maybe this time it won't RROD within 30 minutes of being unboxed.

Don't call... just do it online.

The models you get back after sending it in BLOW.  Let me let you in on a secret, the Xbox sitting beside me is my SEVENTH FREAKING XBOX IN UNDER A YEAR.  That's because they don't actually fix your particular console.  They take some craptastic one that someone else sent in, swap out a few parts and send it back to you.  My third and fourth didn't even last two days.  Microsoft builds the 360 out of shit, leaves, and some gum that they found under their chairs.

Call them, wade through the ridiculous CPU Q&A, and be connected to an Indian. Wade through his incoherent accent, and confirm your repair order. Send your box to them, wait 1-2 weeks, and get it back. This is the story of the wonderful service that is "Microsoft Customer Service."

Or any big-time company, for that matter.

Lol, I got the box, just gotta send that in now. Not a rush however since I got a Jasper Arcade and it is fucking sweet.
