As you would suspect for a big title like RE5, Gamestops around the USA are doing midnight launches.  So is your Gamestop doing one?  Here is a PDF from Gamestop.com with a list of locations that are doing midnight launches.

I must say I am not that enthusiastic to go and get it at midnight, but I will get it later in the day. However, knowing Gamestop, they will probably harass me if I preordered it or not.

The whole 'preorder or else' has completely turned me off shopping at Gamestop stores.  Now they have restocking fees if you cancel your preorder after a game is out?  Complete bullshit.

BTW : 2 of my local stores seem to be doing midnight launches, not going though.

Their closest store to me is like 30-40 minutes away, and they are doing a midnight launch. I also assume it is the store inside my local Mall, to make it even worse. Regardless, I had zero interest of going.

I'm going to be at a Best Buy midnight launch in Stroudsburg, PA, complete with haunted house, staged event involving zombie employees and (real) US Army people with (real) guns shooting (fake) bullets at the zambiez.

Haha. In Bergen County, we are overflowing with Gamestops...but there is not one Wal-Mart within 15 miles (not that I mind). It is funny how it works."
