    Cheap but good

Lost In Nightmares comes as the first part of the many DLC content packs that are going to be released for Resident Evil 5 within the next few months. As a $5 add-on, this pack holds a good amount of nostalgia, scares and content to warrant an easy purchase for anyone who loved Resident Evil 5 already.

The content pack has a whole new episode that explains some backstory that was told, and frequently referenced throughout the main story of Resident Evil 5. Essentially, it’s the mission where Chris and Jill are looking for the founder of Umbrella, Ozwell E. Spencer, and instead end up finding a familiar foe.

To make the DLC be its own entity, there are a few striking differences between Lost In Nightmares and vanilla RE5. Mainly, this comes in the form of the duo covering a mansion (very similar to the original Resident Evil game) and the pacing. Throughout the first 15 minutes or so, there are no enemies to fight, which in turn makes for a very eery atmosphere.

Packed along with this hour or so long episode is a new mercenaries mode that serves as a platform for new characters. Joining the crew in this pack are Barry Burton and Excella. In order to unlock the rest of the characters, you must purchase additional content packs which come to roughly $2 a piece, or $1 per character.

Overall, I’d say that Capcom struck a sweet spot with the Lost In Nightmares DLC. The content fits the price very well, and it just left me thirsty for more. Of course, this also stems from this being the first genuinely scary piece of Resident Evil I have seen in a long time. More than anything, I would love to see yet another remake of the first Resident Evil in this style as Lost In Nightmares proved that such a task is possible.

REVIEW: Resident Evil 5 : Lost In Nightmares I was gonna begin with an excuse for what took me so long to get around to this DLC, but not only do I not really know why I waited. I also very much doubt any reason would make my opinion any more or less valuable, so let's just jump right in, shall we? It's no surprise to those who've kept up with the Resident Evil series that it's lost sight of it's horror roots in the recent years, and grown into a more modernized third person shooter. at 5 bucks this is totally worth it! 0

Here you get to play through what was just a flashback for Chris in the main game. Being a huge Resident Evil fan, I’ve always maintained that I really liked RE5, but didn’t love it. Upon reflection though, it was a damn fine game once you got over the flaws. At 5 bux and available for the platforms that RE5 showed up on(not sure about the PC version though), this DLC is totally worth it and warrants a 9/10 from the double R. The Good – The setting takes you back to a mansion that’s very remini...
