Probably Brad, he seems to really like these games, but I remember him mentioning that despite liking 5 and proclaiming 4 as one of the best games ever, he isn't interested in this one. I don't blame him. I also don't really have any interest in this one.

Theere's a reason I've given up on this game. It's just bad... bad with no redeemable quality, like ORC.

I could have told you that Resident Evil 6 won't be that good! It controls bad and the cover system is horrific! I hated the demo!!

Wow, that's some honesty for you, although he did deep-six those damning tweets. Shall be a very interesting week next week when RE6 drops. Schadenfreude city. I haven't played the demo but the direction Capcom took the series after RE4 sent up red flags for sure. I'm willing to wait out the reviews besides VanOrd's, but this ain't a good sign..unless you hate Capcom, of couse.

I just replayed RE5 and damn that game is really great the setting was fantastic, and it still looks amazing. For some reason though i'm not excited for this one, i loved both 4 and 5 but i don't know about this one. Maybe all i wanted was another RE game like 4 and 5 but in a different setting, like India or somewhere exotic and unknown.

I don't buy this hate , or at least don't take it seriously . Re6 is gonna be good , I'm calling it .

I think Alex put it perfectly when he compared the most recent trailer for this game to the resident evil movies. They seem to be on par in terms of quality.

RE6 is going to blow.

I was willing to put up with some of the shit this game was going to throw at me. But now I really don't know.

These were posted days ago, I'm surprised people didn't post this sooner. I'm getting the game, but I have a strange feeling all the hatred is going to be justified.

They were very clearly about RE6 though, one of them mentioned snowmobiles.

Granted RE5 was very different from the originals, but I really enjoyed it as a game. Not very scary, but fun nonetheless. I played the demo for RE6 and feel it is a more refined RE5 and adds more fear factor to the mix. I will definitely buy this game and more than likely enjoy it quite thoroughly, no matter what reviewers say.

I hated that RE5 forced you to play Co-op with a shitty AI partner. 6 seems to alleviate that issue, but I still need to play the demo. hopefully it's more RE4 than RE5.

Don't know what they're whining about, that sounds great.

RE6 has nothing to do with 4 and 5. 4 and 5 were fun TPS games with an interesting movement and upgrade mechanic. 6 is... Like some other kind of game. If anyone lumps this in with 5, they're crazy. 5 was co-op RE4, this is... Something else.

Even as someone who liked RE5, everything about this one has sounded dire.

I'm not one who hates the more 'cinematic' experience really. A lot of cutscenes doesn't bother me in the slightest, so I'm not too worried yet

I don't understand why the controls and the camera felt so bad (in the demo at least) to me RE5 was great didn't care for the "can't run and shoot" and for the lack of "horror" the game had very tense moments managing the inventory itself while the game was running made it more frantic , the story was good like a good cheesy B-Movie kinda thing the characters were likable (Josh was awesome) and whatever the fans of the old games either left with 4 action controls or with 5 action pace but this isn't even that is just technical stuff that's really bad and Chris campaign wich is the worst parts of RE5 (zombies with guns, awkward cover system and all that crap) so yeah I'm not expecting much.

Do any major Japanese games ever get bad scores from famitsu? When ever I hear of a famitsu score it is always in the high 30's

Famitsu is ran by the mob.

Famitsu doesn't score its reviews based on the games. Famitsu scores its reviews based on what the people who will buy the game would want the game to be scored. Every part of Famitsu is advertising designed to make you feel good about buying games.

PLAY gave it an 88, and OPM gave it a 90. Granted, maybe take those with a grain of salt, being early review scores and all. For what it's worth, I thought the public demo was pretty fun.

Two questions:

1)Who is that guy?

2)Why is RE6 a bad RE game? What's it supposed to do that it doesn't?

I feel someone else would be better qualified to answer your 2nd question (If they feel like they can- I certainly don't)- but I can give an answer the first one.

Kevin VanOrd is one of Gamespot's reviewers. He's one of their more popular reviewers actually- especially given how he was with the site ever since a little bit before the Kane and Lynch incident.

Both demos were legitimately bad, so...not a shocker that the game is terrible.

I seem to think multiple games in the last year or two have been walk shoot cutscene

Best example is Max Payne 3

reviews are opinions , if you hate the game fair enough but you shouldnt shoot the game down cause one guy doesnt like it.

I really liked the last demo... I really am curious to see how the Review cycle will play out for this game. And also I am doubly curious as to what Brad's opinion will be (I mostly agree with his opinions on games)

I may get this either way because it's a numbered Resident Evil game, but I may just wait for a discount if word on the street is that it's as terrible as VanOrd made it seem.

It's just the assumption everyone's making, since its the only immediate upcoming game we can think of that would be able to match VanOrd's criticisms. (We could be missing something of course- certainly a possibility)

And don't forget the pitfalls of early reviews. ;)

Unless you choose to ignore said pitfalls- in which case, more power to you. :)

I was surprised by how good the latest demo was. I wrote RE6 off at E3 after that demo made it look like trash.

I heard that RE6 is going to make people's minds accelerate.

Well fuck. Kevin is the only reviewer over at Gamespot that I like and looking at that disappoints me. I loved 4 and liked 5, looks like I'll wait for 6 to be dirt cheap on Steam.
