It's funny how uninterested he sounds in what he's saying.

#9 Posted by Metal_Mills (2805 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

He sounds so nervous, haha.

#10 Posted by ajamafalous (10599 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

I didn't watch the video, but by reading the comments I can guess what it's like.

I recommend the Shadow of the Colossus review. Maybe Metroid Prime 2: Echoes as well - it seems to stick out in my mind for some reason.

Also, Ryan's review of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (either 2 or 3 - whichever one came out on the PS2 as well) for the PS1. That's also a good one.

#11 Posted by Yummylee (18150 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Lol I remember that review, hes certaintly come a long way.

Wow, I remember that one. Brad has come a long way since then.

He is so stiff in those old reviews. Compared to that his stuff on GB is lightyears of improvement. I never followed Gamespot so I don't really know if that was a gradual change or something with the way they were running things over there.

#15 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5226 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

This is weird. I feel uncomfortable.  =P

I am glad that Giant Bomb's video format encourages them to be more energetic, and it seems Brad has opened up over the years! I would have been the exact same way starting out.

If we're doing this we're doing this...

#18 Posted by loldetaerleo (159 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Ryan looked really scary.

HOLY SHIT OMG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I don't want to do this anymore. I want to only know them as they are now.

Had to hold myself back from screaming... xD
But yeah, there's another video somewhere that shows both Ryan and Jeff on a couch with their hair bleached. No idea where you would get such a terrible idea but thankfully they seem to have realised their mistake.

Holy fucking shit. The hair. The lack of beard. The... almost whisper quality of the vocals. Damn the boys have come a long way.

Oh man, so different.

Heck, with OP's video I only really recognized the voice.
@Gabriel: He does. O.o First video, right?

#25 Posted by c1337us (5751 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Wow Ryan sounded like some sort of creepy stalker in that review. And Brad sounded like he was about to fall asleep in that Outbreak review.

#26 Posted by Elazul (1317 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

That's it, I'm calling it. Brad's the only person allowed to grow a beard.

I had no idea Ryan had the ability to not sound like a condescending dick. The harsh adult world has done good to make men out of these boys. Oh, and these videos are hal-arious.

Wow! Brad is no longer that weedy little nerdy guy anymore.
He's really come into his own and is nowadays kind of a cool nerdy guy. Good on you Brad.

But damn this's the funniest shit I've ever seen. Reminds of those awkward moments from your past that your parents tell your friends or girlfriend about, while you stand there going red in the face and telling them to "shut up". Lol.
Brad really should comment on this, it'd be hilarious! ;-p

And Ryans review that was linked on this topic. His voice scares me and he looked like a pedo. *giggle*.  Now I've laughed, I want to never look at it again. *shudder*

I loved how upbeat the music was, and how bored Brad sounded. It clashed really well.

#32 Posted by CL60 (16906 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

I told Brad to go back to this look but he told me no. :(

#33 Posted by HandsomeDead (11863 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

That first one could easily be swapped with the iPhone app parody and no one would know the difference.

  More Ryan:

Jeff with bleached hair:

Ryan shirt: "Recycle your animals".

Wow, Brad is so manly now.

#39 Posted by get2sammyb (6413 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

He's so bored.

#40 Posted by MildMolasses (2023 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Wow, Brad really looks like a stereotyped guy who writes about video games in that first video.

Also, why the hell did the mix in the game volume so loud. I know Brad isn't the most energetic voice around, but the game is drowning hime out
#41 Posted by HistoryInRust (5953 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Haha. Oh, Brad.

I wonder what he thinks about this weird infatuation we have with him.

#42 Edited by sandwich_adjustment (684 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

*bleached i mean

#43 Posted by Meltac (1890 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Brad just sounds bored and sad ... and Ryan... Ryan looked like a stalker, or some sort of child-kidnapper.

#44 Posted by evanbrau (1158 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Whoa he's really, really come on in terms of delivery and stuff. The Gamespot stuff is monotone as hell.

#45 Posted by lordofultima (6100 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Brad has really grown as a reviewer, lmao. Looks like he just got back from a gig as a beatles cover band.

#46 Posted by DanielJW (4914 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

I like the grizzled man Ryan has become.

@Kowbrainz: I think that was the Review for Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22, they gave that Game a 1.0 I think and Yeah it was weird with both of them having their hair bleached.
