What is with Japan and flamboyant male characters? Fuck!
They all look like that in their country. I watched Babel the other day and the deaf Japanese girl went into a "J-Pop", some flamboyant club with really girly boys singing pop music like Lady Gaga, and all the dudes in there looked like the picture above, and the Final Fantasy male characters.
It's not racist, it's just how the young people dress and act over there. They grow out of it when they're older. It's like young kids in America dress as hip-hop stars, also known as "gangsta" or "wigger".

Nope, that's just you making generalizations.

You can't have any real debate without some liberal generalizations, especially when you've never been to the country itself. And if you're saying to stay out of a conversation if you haven't visited the country or spent considerable time around the culture in question, then all debate might as well come to a halt right now.
Yes it's a generalization that a lot of young people in Japan like to emulate their pop stars and dress like they do, do their hair like they do, and act like they do. It's an educated generalization based upon real life observation of American young people, and how they like to emulate their pop stars, hip-hop stars, rockstars, and all their favorite entertainment stars. It's also based on all the media generated by that country that's intended for younger people. Anime, their comic books, their video games, their movies, their music. Is it wrong to make these kinds of generalizations? No, it's not.

Yeah I hate generalizations, mostly because the internet is full of people generalizing about us Americans. Hurr durr all Americans are fat, and carry guns, and served in the army, and didn't go to college, and and they're baaaaaad people. It's sickening
