Elite and specially trained/equipped military troops and law enforcement tasked with carrying out specific and dangerous/sensitive objectives beyond the remit of regular military personnel. Many games feature special forces operators or units as protagonists or enemies.

War is a series of organized conflicts carried on by force of arms between two or more nations or groups. Whether it never changes or has already changed is up for debate.
