Oh, cool!

For as simple as this is, it seems really cool.

I really loved Rhythm Heaven, so much so that I actually tracked down a copy of the Japan-only GBA predecessor on eBay, but I'm not sure if I'd be as in to playing it on the Wii. I'm definitely willing to give it a shot though.

Scratch-o. Hey!

Gonna get this, I still kick myself for missing Rhythm Heaven on DS:

Yes yes YES.

The GBA original is still the best, but this looks great.

Also I think this might be its own game, not a port of Rhythm Heaven DS, so this shouldn't be marked as such.

FUCK YEEEEES. Rhythm Heaven might be my favorite DS game of all time. I feel guilty for never beating the GBA version I imported, though.

Awesome

OOOOHHH I'm Getting flash backs of how great this series is!

#11 Posted by reddin (417 posts) -

Rhythm Heaven is awesome! Definitely one of my favorite DS games.

I'm not sure motion controls will give you the split second precision you need for Rhythm Heaven most of the time.

But I like Rhythm Heaven on DS, and the art here looks amazing, especially in that golf game. Dude looks like Tintin.

From the little they talked about this game on the bombcast last night, it sounds like the game might just use the A and B button on the wiimote.

that seems awesome!

#16 Posted by GunstarRed (4997 posts) -

Ok, I should probably get a wii at some point.

I really can't wait for the new Rhythm Heaven game. Loved the one on the DS and could not stop playing that game after I had picked it up.

The game has been confirmed to use ONLY BUTTONS, for anyone worried about that. I was.

Call me crazy, but this is the game I'm most looking forward to right now.

They were dismissive about a lot of games, some of them they didn't even consider either because they didn't remember they existed or out of fatigue.

#23 Posted by Jimmi (166 posts) -

It's clearly aerial badminton not ping pong. Get your shit together.

#24 Posted by Demonstride (864 posts) -

I dig the heck out of this trailer.

#25 Posted by Xpgamer7 (2375 posts) -

Who doesn't love more Rhythm Heaven?

#26 Posted by Grilledsasquatch (2 posts) -

Not bad, still need to try the DS version :(

#27 Posted by kollay (1926 posts) -

Seriously, one of the best IPs to ever came out. Simple concept, but delivered so well.

#28 Posted by RedRocketWestie (381 posts) -

That is clearly badminton.

Rhythm Tengoku for GBA is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm really amped for this!

I think Ryan said that it was alot of pressing A.

I'm just happy to see that the game is sticking to it's roots of requiring extremely precise timing rather than loosening everything up just to incorporate motion controls. With this being button based, I'm sure it'll play very similar to the original Rhythm Tengoku, which is a great thing. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we actually did see some motion stuff in the unlockable "toys" that both of the previous iterations in this series featured.

Now that's some good rhythm.

#36 Posted by Redbullet685 (6021 posts) -

Looks awesome!

#37 Posted by Milkman (16486 posts) -

The DS game already confirmed to me that I have no fucking rhythm. I was so unbelievably terrible at that game.

#38 Posted by Mr_Skeleton (5135 posts) -

This game looks crazy. Kind of wish I had a Wii right now...

#39 Posted by Tiz (61 posts) -

Awesome! The GBA version was excellent. The DS version was good, but not as good. Just as was the case with Warioware... If this mostly uses the A and B buttons, it sounds like it might be pretty great!

Wow.
