Overview
Richard Divizio actor and accomplished martial artist in the ways of 7 Star Preying Mantis, Chinese Kung Fu, and Wushu. Divizio is a graduate of the American Academy of Art where he studied computer graphic design and attended classes with Mortal Kombat co-creator John Tobias.
Divizio joined his classmate at Midway in the development of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Divizio's first role was the mercenary Kano in the original Mortal Kombat.
In the sequel, he appears as Kano, but only as a captive in the background of Shao Kahn's stage. But Divizio did play the role of MK II newcomer, Baraka.
Divizio reprised his role of Kano in Mortal Kombat 3, but also took the task of wearing the mask of newcomer Kabal.
In 1997, Divizio played the role of the evil sorceror Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. The game featured many live-action cut scenes, which most any gamer will describe as hilariously bad. Divizio's outtakes are the stuff of legend.
The character of Quan Chi would become an integral part of the MK canon, and although Mortal Kombat 4 shifted the franchise away from digitized graphics, Divizio appears on the side of the arcade cabinet as Quan Chi and contributed motion capture work to the game as well.
In 2002, Divizio returned to Midway as a motion capture actor for Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.
