Never played Empire Earth 2, but Rise of Nations is excellent. It's isometric, has a great economy system, massing forces and deploying them is really easy. I highly recommend it.

I would say that it reminds me a lot of Age of Empires II. If nothing else, you should play Rise of Nations just to hear the awesome soundtrack:

my fav rts of all times.

fast paced, looks nice, works well and being able to go from petty historic archers to nuclear bombs offers tons of variety with the different ages. i actually still have my copy. a huge map with so many nukes going off is insane to keep up with, great fun.

I always liked it. It's a bit old now, but probably still pretty good.

One of my favourite RTS games. I absolutely loved the world-domination, especially getting allies so when you go to battle you get reinforcements and different bases the entire match. Really fun. Wish modern RTS games would have similiar features..

I remember loving the heck out of that game a couple of years ago. A friend and I were looking for an RTS to play around with when Red Alert 3 was announced, and we came across that one. It was a lot of fun and can get absolutely chaotic at points and just blow your mind.

It's a great game. Kind of like Age of Empires, but it goes all the way to the future era and you can nuke your opponents while they still use horses and chariots and fight around with pointy sticks.
