Hey, i used to play alot of Guitar Hero but i just got Rock Band 2 for the wii. It's a ton of fun and i love playing with friends but i only have one guitar hero guitar to use with it and i want to get a Rock Band Guitar. They look really nice but i hate that they don't click when you strum, i don't do as well without it. Ive only used a rock band guitar once or twice and every time i've done terrible, but i figure i just need to use it more.

My question is, Does it take awhile to get used to the Rock Band Guitar or is it always a little tricky?

It shouldn't take too long to get used to it.

Well, were you playing with a RB1 guitar or a RB2 one? The difference in quality between those two is insane, believe it or not. I'm guessing if you were doing terrible it was a RB1 strat, because the strummer on that thing leaves much to be desired.

Yeah a lot of the RB1 guitars are junk, with bad strummers, loud buttons, and bad overdrive sensors. The RB2 guitar is greatly improved, I hella prefer it over the older GH ones (though the GH WT one is also pretty good).

I was a little put off by the soft strum at first, but now the RB Strat is my favorite guitar. You can manhandle it a little more than a GH guitar and it doesn't give you that bounce-strum. Just practice with it for a while, don't be afraid to be a bit more forceful and strum it like a real guitar, and I think you'll be satisfied.

I've tried to get used to it, both with the RB 1 and 2 Strats, but I just couldn't ever get the hang of the strum bar and especially the buttons.

The RB1 guitars are really annoying and I used it for a little while and promptly stowed it away in some dark corner of my plastic instrument cave. I recommend you to get the RB2 guitar, considering it has vastly improved buttons, strum bars and it has an awesome calibration system. The break-in period is also very short. If you must, play with the RB1 guitar but I suggest you get the other.

I agree i saw a RB2 guitar at Best Buy and it looked really nice, alot sleeker then GH guitars. But i heard GH:WT guitars had issues where they stopped working after a few hours of play. That might have been early on however

Yeah not sure what the current state of the GHWT guitars is. The only issue I have with mine is that the damn strummer squeaks, so I had to wedge a little piece of paper between the strummer and the plastic body to make it stop. Lame sauce.

GHIII guitar >>> RB2 guitar

I own both and I personally like strumming more on the GHIII guitar...it feels weird on RB2.  I haven't tried the World Tour ones yet but the fact that the star power button is next to the strum, it sounds cool.

Rock Band guitar sucks so hard.  Stick with a GH guitar.  You don't get the solo abilities with no strumming on the bottom of the neck, but it's a worthwhile trade-off for a product of some better quality.

Yeah, like most have said, the GH guitar is better even if the clickef from the GHII guitar is the most annoying thing ever. Seriously, what was the point of that feature?

The RB2 Strat is simply God's gift to music games. I can't even go back to a GH guitar at all, especially with the clicky ass strum bar and separated frets. The auto calibration tool is also a huge godsend.
