    Hey,

So my kid wanted RB 2 around last Christmas but I didn't pull the trigger because I heard RB 3 would be coming out this year. My plan was to wait for RB 3 and buy the bundle that game comes out with.  I was under the impression that a bundle would come out like RB2s (game, standard drum kit, guitar, mic). Seeing today's article seems to suggest the only official bundle is the game + keytar (129.99) with seperate updated pieces sold. Also I guess a MadCatz bundle that has no price yet.

I know they haven't said anything yet and it is probably best to just wait and see how things pan out on the bundle front but just throwing it out there on some advice/thoughts.

Do you think there will be bundle for newbies of the stock items (drums, guitar, mic)? How much do you think that will cost? Should I get just go ahead and buy Rock Band 2 bundle now (I think their under 100$ now, even less if a little used), enjoy that game and just buy the keytar, RB 3 when that comes out in October.

I say pick up a Rock Band 2 bundle or even a Beatles Rock Band bundle. I saw a Beatles bundle at my local futureshop for $89.99. Than just buy the RB3 disc when it comes out.

You could always buy a Rock Band 2 bundle, get the guitar, drums and microphone in that, and have Rock Band 2 songs to import into Rock Band 3, doubling the amount of songs you have to play when Rock Band 3 rolls around. Then when Rock Band 3 launches, get the keyboard bundle, and then you have one of each instrument and plenty of songs to play.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah that's what I just did, I got Rock Band 2 bundle. I lucked into it as right after I posted first message, I went online searching for bundles and everywhere it was 100-120. But surprisingly Gamestop has a instore sale for the XBOX360 at 69.99. Only 1 store near me had one (within 15miles) and I got that right now. I guess it is apart of their Gamesaver sale.

Have they said anything about a new (not stupidly expensive) drum set for rock band 3? The drum sets in the U.K. are still ridiculously expensive and they dont even sell stand alone rb2 sets anywhere.

I haven't seen much about it (as far as pricing and availability of standalones), but the expectation is that they'll be pretty much the same as Rock Band 2's drum kit.  The optional cymbals will be changing to being on a 45-degree angle.  Having used the RB2 cymbals for the past year, that will be a welcome change, and totally worth it for drum pro-mode.
