I'm surprised a topic like this hadn't been brought up before, it should have been a no-brainer.  Sadly, I'm a silver member, so I can't really participate.

I assume this is for the 360 version. I have RB 1 import, RB 2 import, Lego import, Green Day import, AC-DC import, & a lot of DLC, but I am on the PS3.

Cool to see that there's some interest for this, I've accepted all the friend requests! Feel free to invite if you're ever playing

Duders > randoms

#10 Edited by 234r2we232 (3181 posts) -

Mostly I play Guitar (expert) and sometimes Pro Keys (medium/hard), but recently I've been trying out vocals and had some success. I have most of everything imported (specifically excluding Green Day and ACDC Live) and somewhere around 400 songs worth of DLC (mostly pre-RB3 stuff). If I'm online, free and playing the Rock Band, I'll join.

GT: Message me (remind me you're from GB, pls ;) )

I have had the info in my bio for a while, but here ya go: GT: seanzivonawsm0, DLC list here.

I usually play a couple times a week. Send me an invite letting me know you're a duder, and we will rock!

#12 Posted by Matt (954 posts) -

I was actually thinking about starting a Rock Band night on GiantBomb so this sounds great :)

Gamertag: MX 148
Please just send a note along with the friend request so I know who you are.

#13 Posted by animathias (1161 posts) -

Gamertag's animathias

In Rock Band 3 I mostly stick to pro Keys or Expert Keys. Expert Vocals and Bass are my back ups. I can do Drums or Guitar, but I prefer the others and usually stick to Hard on these.

I've got the RB2, RB1, and Green Day exports and a plethora of DLC from both pre-RB3 and post.

Please feel free to add me and send me an invite whenever you see me on. I like playing with others, but not randoms from the matchmaking. I might still be playing with randoms, but it's randoms from Giant Bomb, which makes them immediately awesome.

I like this idea a lot, I'm in.
Mostly play pro drums (although a handful of songs kill me on expert, but there still doable!)
Can play guitar, bass, and vox on expert (expert vox only on some songs), and no pro instruments (except drums) or keyboard
Got RB2, almost all RB1 imported, and around 150 DLC, can't remember exact number.

I just wanted to jump in and throw my support behind something awesome like this. As a crappy Medium/Hard Guitar/Bass player, there's no way I could participate, but here's hoping you get something great going here!

I have RB1, RB2, Green Day, LEGO, and a good handful of DLC. Nirvana, Boston, Coheed, Deftones, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails to give you idea of what kind of stuff I have.

I play Expert Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keys (though I reserve the right to hop down to Hard on crazy songs to protect my pride) Then I usually go with Medium Vocals, as I prefer to do that while playing guitar.

I also have messed with Pro everything and am still working on that. I'll come back and add people later.

If you see me on RB3 I'm by myself and just messing around usually. GF won't have any.

#17 Posted by damswedon (3173 posts) -

360 GT: Damswedon
I have Rock Band 1 and 2 Exported into 3
I own Lego but turns out you can't export the Games on Demand version.
I have quite a bit of DLC but I'm missing most of the big stuff from the first 6 months of last year.

Guitar - expert and can beat most songs easily but
Bass - expert but not played too much so most songs are sightreads
Keys - Expert/Hard or Pro Medium (working on hard)
Vocals - Hard but not preferred.

Hey, It's all about having fun! I don't mind playing even if you play on easy, so if you wanna go, just join in!

cool to see that this was popular!

RB1, RB2, AC/DC, and Lego RB Imported.
Tons of DLC including Rush, The Who, Coheed, RHCP, Queen, Blink-182, Iron Maiden, A7X, and much more!

Expert Drums- 80-90%
Expert Pro Drums- 60-70%

I can do medium or hard on anything else if need be but much more comfortable on drums.

#20 Posted by Little_Socrates (5675 posts) -

RB1 and RB2; unfortunately, lost my AC/DC download code.
Mounds of DLC; I'll put a list up as a blog at some point.
Expert Guitar on pretty much everything in the game, though I haven't been playing RB3 a ton on my own and so I've missed a lot of the hardest songs on-disc.

I can do hard or expert vocals on anything, and medium or hard drums on anything. I can do expert keys and medium pro keys.

Yeah, I definitely don't think anyone here cares what level anyone else is on. I play a lot, but I don't take it that seriously. I just like playing songs with other people. You could be on easy for all I care, and I think that goes for everybody. =)

Though I do need that 1,000,000 points achievement...

Any interest in a little giantbomb rock band night tomorrow(Friday) then?

If so what time would suit you guys? I'm thinking a few hours before or right after the Friday live show would be good

If we can get more support, I'd be down for that.

Any more Friday Rock Band night takers?

If it's late enough (eastern time zone) and I'm coherent enough to make it to my drum set, I'm all for this.

@JJWeatherman Sounds good, I already have a couple of dudes from this thread on my FL so if we don't get any heat here we might still be able to get 4 people together

Ok, Just updated the OP with a huge table with everyones info, if you see any missing/incorrect info please let me know.

@JJWeatherman Hit me up with some more info so i can add you to the list!

I was also thinking I'd start arranging weekly rock band nights on the weekends, where you can sign up with instrument and difficulty, then I'll make different bands and try to match up different instruments and difficulties.

So please throw me some suggestions on time and day and any other ideas

Cheers

#37 Posted by melcene (3056 posts) -

Like the table!  Please update instruments for me as follows:

Guitar - Hard/Expert
Drums Easy/Medium

Currently Friday nights are probly best for me.

I'll have to double check on the number of DLC I have.

Yeah sorry @pepsimax , next time It'll hopefully be more structured and prepared. With several bands if enough people are interested. Unfortunately i can't set it up this friday as I'll be on the coast in a cabin, fishing and drinking for 4 days. If someone wants to take the reins feel free!

Gah.  I won't even be home for another 2 hours :(  Think my time zone and work/commute hours might make this difficult for me on weekdays.

#46 Edited by wolf_blitzer85 (5250 posts) -

Wow bigger turnout that I thought. I especially like the DLC counts on the right side of the table.

Just to update my spot, I'll play anything. Keys I'm still stuck at easy/medium and vocals are usually medium. Everything else is expert Pro drums (save for a couple songs I just physically cannot do) and Expert regular ass bass and guitar. I'm too poor and afraid to start diving into the pro stuff just yet..

Unfortunately my work schedule likes to conflict with just about anything fun I try to do, but if I see any of you guys online I would be more than happy to jam out!

Okay now a nice clean formatted representation of my skills:

 Bass:    Expert Regular Bass
Drums:
Expert (Sometimes hard) Pro
Guitar:   Expert Regular
Keyboard:  Easy/medium pro
Vocals: Easy/Medium Always Pro
Preferred Instrument(s):  All of it
Imported Games: RB1, RB2, Green Day
Number of DLC songs: Roughly around 300

@melcene said:

We could always run it after the live show instead of before. Whatever works; we'll figure it out.
#48 Posted by pepsimax (51 posts) -
@JJWeatherman: Yea I tried to join :). I figured you had too many people playing anyway, so I just played with some other people
@swoxx:

I haven't really played guitar/bass for a long time (kind of got sick of my xbox for a while), so i was able to practice with other people a bit, perhaps better this way :P [Also: I have a new HD television which SUCKS to play on, so I had to calibrate 2394234 times (and it still isn't any good)]

So no worries and anyone who wants to play for a bit: just invite me, I'll be online a couple of times I suppose!
#49 Posted by JJWeatherman (14557 posts) -
@pepsimax: Yep, HD TVs are an enormous pain. It's hard to get your head around how exactly the calibration settings are affecting the gameplay. I found this video to be helpful in at least gaining a loose understanding of what exactly is going on when you calibrate:

The worst part is that not all instruments will have an equal amount of input lag, so a guitar controller's ideal calibration settings could be noticeably different from a drum controller's ideal settings. You've just gotta keep making slight adjustments until you find something that seems about right; sometimes you just have to find a middle ground.

Or buy one of those RB2/3 guitars with the auto-calibration tool built in.
#50 Posted by 234r2we232 (3181 posts) -
@JJWeatherman: Auto-calibration is a lie :(
