Roger Federer, a Swiss professional tennis player, considered by many as the greatest tennis player to date. He has won seventeen Grand Slams in his career--more than any other player ever--and includes seven Wimbledon titles, five US Opens, four Australian Opens, and a French Open. He is also one of the few players to have achieved a career Grand Slam in the history of the men's game. Roger Federer was awarded a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Games for his doubles play with partner Stan Wawrinka. He most recently won a silver medal in the 2012 London games.
As of October 15, 2012 Roger Federer has been rank world #1 for a record 300 weeks over three different stints. He also holds the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 with 237.
Roger Federer is known for his all-around style. He has what can be described as a flawless game. Therefore, he was untouchable through many years until his rivalry with Rafael Nadal. Although their fierce rivalry on court, both are very good friends outside the court. Roger Federer was ranked #1 of the top 100 all-time best tennis players by Tennis Channel.
