The Gold edition is 9.99 on Steam and I'm really considering it.

I'm just wondering if it still holds up. It's not super old and it's highly rated, so I figure it would be a great deal.

It's a great game that is defined by the epic battles you experience and the addictive strategy of ruling an empire.

That game is fucking awesome, one of the fews games that actually ran on my crappy laptop.

Make a custom game, get 5,000 peasants and 300 spartans to defend a bridge = sit back and enjoy.

Just be aware that if you get the Era's compilation (still on sale and promoted on Creative Assembly's website) and have an 8000 series NVidia card, you will not be able to play Shogun or Medieval Total War due to mouse control problems in the tactical game. CA and SEGA and lots of the media have known about this for a year, and yet CA and SEGA have done nothing, and no media have reported on it.

I am so pissed I cannot play my Shogun or Medieval Total War, I am going to be buying Empires on ebay secondhand, just so none of my money gos into SEGA's/Creative Assembly's pockets. If they don't want to support me as a customer, I see no reason to support them as a developer/publisher.

Damnit Coltonio, why didn't you tell me about this thread so I could have expressed my opinions. Now I will never get to speak of them.

I heard that it comes free if you preorder the game. Too late I guess. Still, glad you got it. It is probably my favorite RTS ever, even if I am not the RTS type of guy.
