Game Appearances
Tools of Destruction
Rusty Pete first appearance in the
series is in
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, where he takes on the role of
Captain Slag's loyal, if slightly erratic and oftentimes intoxicated sidekick. Like Slag, he was created by
Emperor Tachyon, in order to obtain the
Lombax secret, but secretly they plan to keep the information for themselves. Pete plays a part in forcing
Ratchet to take on Slag in a fight, by threatening to kill
Clank. After Slag's defeat, Pete picks up his former captain's now disembodied head, before entering a profound and emotional sililoquoy about life and death. Immediatly after this, Pete declares Ratchet as the crew's new Captain. At the end of the game, he is shown trying to teach
Captain Qwark how to perfect the typical pirate's 'Arrrrrgh', before realising he was going to 'need some more grog'.
Quest for Booty
Rusty Pete takes a more prominent role in
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty, narrating the storyline, with brief interjections from Captain Slag. Pete also accompanies Ratchet, Clank and
Talwyn on certain sections of the game, helping with puzzles. He also retains Slag's decapitated head, which he places on the end of a rod, declaring it to be 'Slag on a Stick'. Later, he double crosses Ratchet, raising Slag so he could get his revenge on Ratchet. After Ratchet emerges victorous again, Pete dives after the head of Slag, which fell into a crevas. Pete managed to survive the fall, and is featured at the end of the game in the sea, rowing himself and Slag on top of a crate.
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Slag and Pete don't really appear in Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, although Pete does appear in a 2D modle in the mini game "My Blaster Runs hot" with Captain Qwark, however they are both heard on their Space radio station, Pirate Radio, from planet Ardolis, having somehow made it back there when reaching the island. The two made requests, played songs, and often bickered over things, Slag still a disembodied head. Dispite thier new jobs, the two still held their postion as captain and first mate. During the events Rusty Pete made his own school known as Rusty Pete's School of Piracy.
